The Profile Racing Z-Coaster – Everything You Need To Know

July 4, 2015

Considering buying the Profile Racing Z-Coaster freecoaster hub? Here’s a video from Adam LZ giving you some insight into the hub that he has been running for a little over a month now. Adam takes you though all the details about the hub, pros, cons and some of his personal experiences with it. Despite the price tag, it sounds like he’s real psyched on it. Check out the video above!

“Is this mysterious BMX hub worth the insane $358 price tag?
In this video we will explore pros & cons of the hub, in addition to how it works.

As soon as the hub came out everyone wondered if I was going to ride it or not… I saw it as a pretty cool opportunity to try out something new and to make a review about. I really want to start doing more reviews, and this was perfect because there isn’t any videos about this hub that aren’t made by profile themselves. As with all my reviews, I try to touch on the positives and negatives instead of just addressing one side of the topic. I’m very happy with my hub thus far, but will you be? It’s DEFINITELY expensive, whether it is worth it or not is up to you. As I said in the video, you’re more than welcome to try out mine before you order one- just hopefully I’m in your area some time soon!

I tried using my new wide angle lens for this review. Not really the best use for it, but it was cool to switch things up. In case you were wondering, I was NOT paid by Profile for making this video. I would never make a commissioned review without specifically telling you guys in the video. Your trust means more than a few dollars to me any day.

Thanks for watching, I hope this helps clear some things up!”

The-Union-Select-Front

To go along with their new Select Male Freecoaster Hub, the guys over at Proper Bike Co. have released their new Select Female front hub. Product: Proper Bike Co. – Select Freecoaster Hub

July 2, 2015

The-Union-Select-Coasters

The other day we were cruising around on Instagram and we came across a photo of a new freecoaster hub from Proper Bike Co. that they just released. We were curious if there was anything special about this hub or if it was just another “clone” of the other options available. So, we got ahold of Proper to find out just what the story is.

Although this hub uses the traditional KHE internals that a lot of the other freecoaster hubs out there use, they did do their research to ensure quality, so they created their own 6061 shell with high quality 6002 bearings, custom designed 7075 cones, a 155mm long, 14mm heat-treated chromoly male axle, 17mm chromoly axle bolts with a 6mm broach and a 9-tooth chromoly driver that is available in right or left side drive with colors of black, polished and oil slick. There is also an optional non-drive hub guard made from Ultramid® Nylon that replaces the hardware to prevent spending of your frame. Below you can find a full explanation from Jamie Cameron about this hub.

Merritt – Final Drive Freecoaster Promo

May 11, 2015

Merritt just dropped this promo for their brand new Final Drive Freecoaster that is out now! Watch Brandon Begin, Jim Borio, Charlie Crumlish and Brett Silva put the hub to damn good use in this dialed BMX video. Highly advise you hit play on this!

“We used a traditional clutch style system paired with our 9T Diamond Driver (the driver comes with a lifetime guarantee). Our driver replaces the small bearings, the most common source of failure in freecoasters, with polymer bushings along its entire length. The hub shell is super slim and CNC’d 6061 aluminum with a hollow chromoly axle. The hub comes set with maximum slack but adjustment washers are included to reduce slack if desired. Available in RHD and LHD.”
