The other day we posted up the Kink 2015 Parts Collection catalog up on the site that gave us a good look at their full range of frames and parts that Kink have released worldwide this month. Inside, we caught a look at a few items that really caught our eye, including the new Yukon cassette hub. We were curious to find out just what made up this cassette hub, so we got in touch with the guys over in New York and got all the specs and details. Here’s one we have seen pop up a few different times since September when we checked out The Shadow Conspiracy’s Interbike 2014 Booth. For 2015, Shadow have two new tie dye colorways; raw tie dye and red tie dye, that will be found on a handful of their parts. Today they announced that these color options will be available at the end of March through all shops and mail-orders that carry The Shadow Conspiracy worldwide. Above is the raw and you can check out the red after the jump! While we’re on the subject of the Raptor hubs, for 2015 they now come with the SDS (Switch Drive System) drivers that allow you to easily switch between right and left side drive! This is also available on their popular BTR cassette as well.

Product: Proper – K7 Cassette Hub

March 2, 2015

proper-k7-cassette-hub-bmx

It had been a while since we had a look at the Proper Bike Co. website, so we headed over there to take a look around. We took a look at their K7 cassette hub and noticed a pretty unique feature on it that really caught our eye; a shim system instead of bearings in the driver.

The K7 Cassette hub is a design that Proper had been working on for a few years. The shell of this hub is CNC machined from 7075 aluminum with a clean and simple look and spoke hole slots on the flanges for extra protection. Inside you can find a forged and heat-treated chromoly 14mm axle and the 9-tooth chromoly driver with Proper’s shim system instead of bearings to eliminate drivers blowing up. You can find two SKF 6902 sealed bearings to help keep the hub spinning smooth.

This hub is also available in a female version with 17mm hex bolts.
