It seems like the weeks are just flying by faster and faster lately. It’s already that time of the week to dig into a fresh round of Products: for you guys to take a look at! This week we’ll be getting a closer look at the Party bars from Subrosa, the new Classic Logo tank top from Freed Bikes, the Salvation topload stem from Cult, the Stun cassette wheel from The Shadow Conspiracy and finally the 23 Fork from And Forks. Hit up The Merged to find out more about the new Division Brand Terminal topload stem they’re working on. This thing looks real good.
Sean Sexton’s signature SXTN topload stem from Odyssey is OUT NOW. This stem is CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum with a reach of 48mm, 33mm rise (-1.5mm when flipped) and features six solid bolts and a recessed top for your compression cap. The stem is available in black, Hunter green and Bronze with a raw color coming shortly and a weight of 10.4 oz. You can check out more photos and info here.
Fit Bike Co. have done a limited edition Rasta run of Mike Aitken’s signature S4 topload stem. This stem is made right here in America with 6061-T6 aluminum. It features a 53mm reach, 24mm rise (6mm inverter) and Grade 8 allen bolts. This stem is also available in blue, black, red and silver along with the Rasta color and a weight of 11.5 oz. Have your local shop get you one ordered up today because these stems won’t be around long!
Over the years, stem technology has changed up pretty drastically. They’ve gone from these blocks of alloy steel that had 6 (sometimes 8!) bolts in them to keep your bars and fork connected while holding that headset in place all the way down to these crazy CNC machined to the max stems with one bolt holding it all together. It just goes to show how much innovation has come to a part like a stem over BMX’s fairly short history. A few weeks back, the guys at Proper Bike Co. let me in on a wedge based stem system that’s been in the works for a couple a years now. After being put on the back burner for a while, they’ve finally designed something they’re totally happy with and are getting the test results they want in order to really give it that Proper stamp of approval. All though the stem won’t be out for a few months, we figured it would be cool to give you guys a sneak peek at both versions of this stem and find out what really went into the making of it. Spotted this over on The Merged. Here’s a sneak peek look at Lahsaan Kobza’s new signature Chula topload stem from The Shadow Conspiracy. No word on exact specs and details, but this beast looks tall and should be out sooner than later! Expect more details closer to its release!
