Shawn Shimkets Backyard Trails – April 2013

Shawn’s yard has been a hot spot lately. I spotted this new video over on Can You Dig It that gives you a slightly different look since they pulled out the remote control helicopter to film a lot of the clips. This yard makes me drool.

“This year I’ve been fortunate enough to meet some amazing people with incredible athletic ability, including BMX rider Shawn Shimkets. Shawn lives in Escondido, CA and has created an amazing array of dirt jumps or “trails” as the riders prefer to call them in his own backyard! This masterpiece has been in the process for over a year and has a tremendous amount of man hours poured into it. Shawn and his friends have a few different backyard trails they work on and I have been lucky to film a few in 2013. Working with Nicholas Moffett in this edit we were able to capture some amazing aerial scenes with his drone helicopter and a camera mounted underneath. I hope to continue to work with Shawn and like minded people to capture some awesome action footage; it will only get better and better!

Spotted this over on Can You Dig It. Now this is what I call a good time. Check out this video Grounded BMX put together from the jam they threw at the 7 Trails recently. So good.

Spotted this over on Can You Dig It and got so stoked. Shawn Shimkets did what a ton of us dream to do and that’s tear up the entire backyard to build a dialed set of trails to ride. This video gives you a look at the yard, some riding and the story of how these trails came to be. So good.

Spotted this on Can You Dig It. I always forget how insanely good those trails are in Sao Paulo, Brazil and how good the riders that ride them are. This video of Julian Rocha floating through these beasts is so good. Take a peek!

Red Bull Dirt Conquerers Video

There has been photos from the Red Bull Dirt Conquerers contest surfacing for a few days, but no video. Here’s a video that a guy from the stands put together. Not the best filming, but it’s something to get an idea of how things were going down over the weekend. Trust me, this isn’t the only video we’ll be seeing from this either.

Trans Jam – Dirt Stop

Now this is what I’d call a good time! Check out what went down at the Trans Jam at the Lake Crabtree trails this past weekend.

“Trans Jam BMX Contest first ever dirt stop was at the Lake Crabtree Park dirt jumps this past saturday may 18th. Riders from as far as Australia came to throw down and the riders were stoked on it, after the trail crew got the jumps running after a mid day storm the riders started getting their runs dialed.
