Colony – Forks With Brake Mounts
If there’s one trend I’d like to see come back in BMX, it’s front brakes. This video Colony just dropped is pure GOLD.
“We’re one of the few brands who still make forks with brake mounts these days, always have, always will.
To celebrate this fact we compiled a bunch of front brake clips from Clint, Polly & Bobbie. Some new, some older but all showing good use of the front brake. It’s something we feel very strongly about & will always offer within our product range. Forks with brake mounts are here to stay & we’re helping that one bike at a time. #colonybmxbrand #frontbrakebrethren“
Colony – Doubles with Tom Stretton & Bobbie Altiser
ABSOLUTE. MUST. See. Front brake magic and maximum creativity from Colony‘s Tom Stretton and Bobbie Altiser. Hit play now!
“A few months ago Tom and Bobbie spent some time in the USA and during that time they came up with the idea of shooting a doubles video together. As you can see their riding styles gel well together so we knew it was going to be a treat! This was a lot of fun to shoot so hopefully that shines through in the video.

Flash Back Friday – Front Brake Magic
Over the course of the past few weeks, we’ve seen a couple really mind blowing videos from a few of the guys who are absolute animals when it comes to the front brake game these days. Obviously, in the past years brakes have really become obsolete for a good number of riders, which I mean is fine, but I almost feel like it’s almost becoming some sort of a lost art. There are so many tricks that just aren’t possible without brakes or even front brakes for that matter that kick so much ass. It’s always refreshing to see people doing things different and killing it like it was done back in the day.
Watching all of these new videos with all of this front brake magic got me thinking about not only how bad I want to get some on my bike, but a few of the guys I grew up watching who all ran front brakes. I decided since it’s a “Flashback Friday” that it would be a good time to pull out a few of these new videos and then dig in a little bit for some videos spanning the past decade or so front some of the legends of the front brake game so to speak. Let’s take a peek…
Colony – Bobbie Altiser 2013 Edit
Bobbie Altiser is hands down one of my favorite front brake magicians in all of BMX, and this new Colony video is a good reminder of that! Check out as Bobbie puts full use of those brakes, his free coaster and mustache in this video that you just can’t miss out on. Hell yeah, Bobbie!
