It has been a while since we’ve seen Phil Demattia‘s name pop up! Apparently he hasn’t been riding much lately, but he got in his first session in a year at Breaking Free Skatepark and absolutely crushed it. Plenty of lip tricks and combos that are so good. We’re not sure how he was able to ride like this with so much time off, but we’re stoked on it. Check it!
Breaking Free Skatepark Mixtape 1
The Breaking Free Skatepark in Rochester, New York coming through with an awesome new mix featuring the locals going to work on the park! This video has a suuuuuuper good mix of tricks and styles from young guns to some of the older locals making for a great watch from start to finish. One thing we’re especially stoked on is how many dudes are rocking brakes and mixing things up in this. Not to say the brakeless riding isn’t awesome, just good to see some fufanu and abubaca combos popping up more and more in videos lately.
Breaking Free Skatepark – Quarantined
Unfortunately due to the Coronavirus, the Breaking Free Skatepark, and a ton of other parks, have been temporarily closed until things pass. Fortunately, Dave Raffa decided to setup 3 different rail spots around the city for the riders to enjoy. Hit play to check out this video Dave put together from a session he finally got in on one of the rails with a few friends. This is rad to see .

Breaking Free 2013 Mixtape
Breaking Free 2013 Mixtape from Dave Gnar Raffa on Vimeo.
The Breaking Free mixtape is a real treasure right now, as it feels like 9 out of 10 edits are indoor park footage. Tom Molyneux, Brett Tocco, Pat Quinn, Dan Coller and a laundry list of others shred classic North Eastern style spots for 10 minutes and I suggest you watch every minute of it.
