If there’s one guy who it’s always cool to catch up with, it’s Brad Simms! For the past few years he has been constantly traveling all around the world riding and experiencing everything the places he goes has to offer. The other day we caught wind that he just built up a fresh new setup thanks to BSD and Merritt and figured it would be a good time to do a bike check and find out what else is new! Let’s take a look at his bike and find out what he had to say!

With the release of Alex Donnachie’s insanely good ALVX Promo video today, we figured it would be a good time to take a closer look at his signature frame from BSD that is finally out! This full 4130 chromoly frame features a steep 75.5-degree head tube angle, 71-degree seat tube angle, 11.7″ bottom bracket height, 8.7″ standover height and a SHORT 12.5″ – 13″ chain stay length. The frame features gussets on the top and down tubes, a Mid bottom bracket, an integrated seat post clamp with the Horizontal Cut System, extra wide seat and chain stays with rounded bridges, ovalized seat stays at the bridges for extra clearance, welded on caps on the stays at the drop outs for more peg clearance, 5mm thick drop outs and NO brake mounts. The ALVX frame comes in top tube lengths of 20.3″, 20.6″, 20.8″ and 21″ with colors of translucent blue, clear coat raw and flat black and a weight of 5 lbs. even!

Are you looking for some plastic pedals, but you want something with more traction? Have you given Reed Stark’s signature Safari pedal from BSD a look yet? This pedal is made form a tough nylon fiberglass construction with a dual concave design and a 9/16″ heat-treated chromoly spindle with unsealed bearings on the inside. This pedal is unique because it features 20 hexagonal pins on each side of the pedal with extra pins on the edges where they are commonly worn down or broken off, along with knurling across the entire body, providing exceptional grip even after some wear.
