Flash back about a month ago and word about a contest that Chad Kerley would be throwing started popping up on Twitter from a few of the people who got the first round of invites. A few days later it was announced that Chad and Vitaminwater would be inviting some of the top street riders in the world to The Bakery for a rider judged contest with $20,000 in prize money up for grabs.
Fast forward to this past weekend and 30 of the best riders in the world are crammed onto a limo bus cruising from the high rises of downtown Chicago into the secret location of The Bakery in a less than glamorous part of the city. Some of the riders had visited before but most had never been inside this playground of goodness. Walking into the building I was blown away with how amazing the spot was and just watching some of the guys start warming up the night before the contest it was clear there would be some amazing things happening within the next day.
Saturday came and once everyone was ready, the cameras were fired up for riders all over the world to watch the live feed of what was without a doubt one of the best contests to happen in BMX ever. I could go on and on about all the wild riding that went down, but I don’t think you want to read a book. So I’ll just keep it simple and say I can’t even begin process all the incredible things that went down and I’d like to give a huge shout out to Chad Kerley, Brian Kachinsky, Vitaminwater, Ride BMX and everyone that made this event possible.

Being there and seeing this is crazy because I forgot about some of the wild shit that went down. I can’t begin to stress how many things went down that nobody has seen before. Absolute insanity.

Last night the crew rolled into The Bakery to check out the place and get some riding time in. What happens when you put some of the best riders in the world together for a relaxed session? Cory’s Corner – Episode 1: San Diego

I’m stoked on this. Haro is going to be sending Cory Nastazio around to different trails spots to check it out, talk with the locals and ride. Maybe I’m just imagining things, but it seems like there’s been a lot more trails riding popping up over the last few years. This can’t hurt getting some people stoked on it. The first stop he visits Fury trails in San Diego where he bumps into none of than Chad Kerley.
