Dave Paterson put together a bunch of legendary products to go with the theme for the new issue of DIG. Some of those products didn’t quite make the cut. But that’s okay, because now they are releasing them online for you to check out. You can find the one about Odyssey‘s 41-Thermal heat-treated forks right here.

Over the years, there have been a handful of products that really stood out and have become “that product” that everyone knows as the perfect example that was eventually reproduced by a handful of other brands with minor tweaks and branding changes. For example, we could look at products like S&M’s Slam Bars, Odyssey’s Twisted PC pedals and Profile’s cranks. There’s one product that I think fits into this category that you without a doubt have either ran on your bike, or know a few people who do. That would be the Shadow Conspiracy‘s Interlock half-link chain. Since its release, it has been duplicated and replicated fairly unsuccessfully by a handful of brands and Shadow have stayed on top with making beneficial tweaks to make it stronger and better than before. Dave figured it was time to catch up with owner Ronnie Bonner to find out more about what exactly makes this chain one of the legendary products of BMX. So let’s take a look and what he had to say…

Dave Paterson made his way to the Seventies warehouse this past weekend where he was able to get an inside look at some of the new products floating around. He got a look at some sample Federal Contact grips that will be out sometime in the near future. Until then, you can get a closer look and find out more by hitting The Merged.

Over the last year or so, I had been seeing this website called “The Merged” popping up. The site really focused in on the product side of BMX, which is one of my favorite things in the world, so it definitely caught my attention. As time went on, I was more and more stoked on the site. I ended up emailing Dave a while back and we have been going back and forth for quite a while and it hit me that I needed to try and convince him to get on board with The Union. I really want to push The Union in a positive direction with more original content from people other than myself that are doing good things. So I’m stoked to announce that Dave Paterson will be a regular contributor on The Union with his focus being more on the product side of things and U.K scene! Expect to see good things from him, Pavia and myself on the regular now. It’s going to get awesome.
