Deco – 10K Trip with Chad DeGroot and Karl Poynter

To celebate Deco rolling over 10,000 fans on Instagram, Chad DeGroot and Karl Poynter did a little road trip around a few of Indiana’s cement parks! Between these two guys, you know you’re going to see some damn creative riding. There’s a lot of rocket combos in this that are awesome to see, that’s for sure. LOL at the parents teaching the kids how to graffiti at the end.

“With being so close to the Chicago Dew tour I decided to arrive early, get a car, and meet up with Karl Poynter for a quick trip riding some Indiana parks. With chasing rain drops for 3 days we did get some stuff done, more than we thought. Pretty amazing parks and wild scenes Indy has. We found enough time to get this edit done but plan on another since we just scratched the surface. Karl is so smooth and finds the lines that don’t make any sense but stomps them like its nothing. We were a good team for this, similar likes at parks, exchanging the camera, and shooting pics. Deco – Chad Degroot GBASO Session

Chad DeGroot recently spent some time up in Wisconsin where he was able to film a bunch of footage. Yesterday we got a video from the session he got in at a backyard ramp setup, now today we get another BMX video, this time from the Green Bay Skatepark. Chad is always cooking up some unique lines, and this

“Tight trannies with tons of wedges is right up my alley. Was at Green Bay indoor park @gbaso visiting family and also in Appleton doing a skatepark grand opening getting some riding in with my son and the locals. Indoor parks are real crazy to see these days so we had to support Green Bays finest park and give it a wedge 360 to fakie then fakie on the tight quarter to slider cause I love sliding. Deco – Chad DeGroot Appleton Backyard Session

Here’s a short but sweet BMX video Deco dropped from a session that Chad DeGroot, along with BACO’s Mark Hilson and Mark Fluette, got in at a backyard ramp setup in Appleton, Wisconsin! This spot looks like a full on skatepark! Take a look.

““Being in Appleton Wisconsin for the revamped Telulah skatepark which I would call my local and go-to park since it was only 30 minutes away from Green Bay. They tore out the old and put in an updated park which you will see soon enough. But how could we just ride that park when good friend Dave Freimuth wanted our crew to session a private park he built in the outskirts for some friends. So.. with open arms we had a great session at one of Dave’s creations for a skater who wants to ride with bikes. His mom, Brenda, welcomed all our kids to a swimming and a night on their turf. I would rather keep the rest private but we had a blast and before the sun went down @chrisrye got a few clips of me laying some tire marks on a gem of a private backyard. Also featured are Mark Hilson and Mark Fluette.”

When we look at flatland, it’s pretty crazy because it has its own world and place in BMX. The riding is on a whole different level, the tricks have different names and there’s no denying that the work and effort it takes to actually begin to master the tricks would make most kids these days cry and hide behind their X-Box. Over the years, we’ve been becoming bigger and bigger fans of flatland just because it’s pretty easy to appreciate something so incredibly challenging. Plus, it seems like a lot of street guys are starting to see how good it looks mixed into their lines as well.
One rider in particular that we have always been big fans of is Lee Musselwhite. Lee is one of those riders that isn’t the kind of guy who is going to put out a video just for the sake of having footage from a new location, but he is pretty known for putting out a video when he has done something new. A little while back, he had a video drop that was filled with his original moves and we knew that there was no way we could skip out on getting to know the guy a little better.
Thanks to Effraim over at Flat Matters, we got ahold of Lee and hit him with a ton of questions. Let’s get to know the Spiderglide master!

Chad DeGroot – Daytona Skatepark

Here’s a short but sweet one featuring Chad DeGroot getting some riding in at the Daytona Skatepark. One thing we’re always stoked about when Chad puts out a new BMX video, is the riding is always unique and different than what we see every day. Hit play and enjoy!

“Been riding so much flatland lately and had visions of trying some tricks I have not done in awhile but on my flat machine at the park. Namely the tail whip from the back pegs. First did this in 2006 so today was the day to make it happen again. I was not taking NO for an answer or leave with my tail between my legs. Early bird got the worm. Pulled three of them today and that made my day. Made my month. Could not leave Daytona park without riding the rest of the place and my flat bike felt so good.
