FBM – The BMX Post Apocolympics
FBM‘s BMX Post Apocolympics went down this past weekend at Derek Nelson’s park. Here’s the footage that Kenny Horton compiled into an edit to give you an idea of how good of a time it was. There were definitely a lot of rad guys there and it looks like everyone was stoked. I was stoked to see they pulled Derek’s tank bike that he rode on Road Fools out for the highest bunny hop. That bike is so gnarly. Check it!

“Perhaps the best thing about something like BMX is that your relationship with it can really be whatever you’d like it to be. BMX is there, and we can mould ourselves around it, and with heart and dedication in earnest we shape our riding and community through it to be the way we would like them to be. There aren’t any rules.”

Tree – Derek Nelson – Summer 2011
Derek Nelson is one of the rare riders in this world that I can honestly say their riding is completely unpredictable and on a whole different level of creativity. With that being said, here’s his section from the DVD that Tree Bicycle Co. released this summer. Simply put, this is amazing and a MUST SEE.
Derek Nelson at HCS
“Remember Derek Nelson, the wheelcover guy from “Road Fools 13”? Well, he’s still on the scene, and still definitely doing his own thing. In the above, BMXFU rider Charlie Crumlish heads to Derek’s home at HCS in Vestal, N.Y. to interview Derek, ride the new creations at HCS, and get a look inside the mind of one of BMX’s most unique DIY personalities. Video by Charlie Crumlish.” – Brian Tunney / ESPN
