Here’s a look at what went down in BMX vert in Ocean City this weekend for the Dew Tour! The video above has footage from guys like Coco Zurita, Steven McCann, Jimmy Walker and Jamie Bestwick all throwing down some dialed riding as usual. There were even a few clips of Mike “Hucker” Clark but I was really hoping for more footage from him. Take a peek! Oh, and would you believe that Bestwick took home the gold again? haha

“Flips, whips, and blimps in bikinis on the beach. It was a heavy day of practice in Ocean City with over six hours of riding between vert and park and I tried to point the camera in all the directions. Check footage from the likes of Jamie Bestrick, Drew Bezanana, Very Hung, Daniel Sandyballs, Coco Zucoco, Morgan Wager, Chad Girly, Nyan Ryquist, Harriest Mayne, Glenn Salvia, Simon Cabron, Awesome Coleslaw, Lebron James, Pat Lazy, Prince Bi-ron, and Jerry Bladders.”

Daniel Dhers, Chad Kerley, Morgan Wade, Ryan Guettler, Harry Main, Pat Casey and more all coming through with some damn good BMX riding!
The Dew Tour is hitting Ocean City, Maryland June 20-23. Although they’ve changed up the format a bit, it sounds like this will be a bigger and better version that will have park, vert and flatland. No word on dirt, but I guess if the contest is going down on the beach that makes for a bit of a challenge to make that happen. Either way, check out the full press-release below.
“Burr Ridge, Ill. – May 22, 2013 – Alli Sports, a division of the NBC Sports Group, today announced the competition schedule and top confirmed athletes for the Dew Tour Beach Championships in Ocean City, Md., June 20-23. Fans will be inspired by the four-day action sports celebration whether tuning in through broadcast, online, or at the free events throughout the weekend.
The best in skateboarding and BMX will converge on the beach to compete in Skate and BMX Vert, Skate Bowl (Pro and Legends divisions), BMX Park, BMX Flatland, Surf and new Skate and BMX “Battle at the Beach” Street Sessions. Among the top athletes competing are Baltimore native Bucky Lasek, Pierre-Luc Gagnon, Tom Schaar, and Brazilian bowl dominator Pedro Barros. Scotty Cranmer, hailing from Jackson, New Jersey, will compete in BMX Park along with Kyle Baldock. In addition, Steve McCann attempts to take the BMX Vert win away from living legend Jamie Bestwick.
“I can’t wait to get back to Ocean City for the Dew Tour,” said Lasek. “I always look forward to competing in front of friends and family at the beach and Dew Tour has a great atmosphere for competition and family vacation.”
The 2013 Dew Tour will be available on NBC, NBC Sports Network, Dew Tour Live on DewTour.com, NBC Sports Live Extra and the NBC Sports Live Extra App – the NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, and tablets. In addition, all telecast hours will be distributed internationally across NBC’s global distribution partners.
In the tradition of the new Dew Tour, the Dew Tour Beach Championships will capture in the unique Ocean City setting with the Atlantic Ocean and lively boardwalk as backdrops. The Dew Tour Beach Championships will be free to attend. Premium passes – offering the ultimate Dew Tour fan experience – are available for purchase. Premium Passes include guaranteed seating at all events, a souvenir credential and a Dew Tour Swag Bag. Passes for Thursday, June 20 will cost $35; Friday through Sunday will cost $80 for each day.
