Project Loop Skatepark Workshop with Chase Hawk & Joe Rich

This is pretty rad. If you have ever wondered how to get something going to convince your city to build a skatepark in your city or town, this is one way to make it happen. Chase Hawk and Joe Rich recently linked up with the Project Loop crew in Texas to get some momentum going behind building a park. Check it out!

“Project LOOP (Lesson’s On and Off the Pavement) is a non-profit comprised of creative professionals that mentor youth. Kids get up close exposure and hands on experience through creative exercises in career fields of interest . You may have caught them over the years helping build and paint ramps for at Fun Fun Fun Fest, Texas Toast Jam and X-Games in Austin. The kids worked hard raising awareness and funding to build a skatepark for the youth of Taylor, Texas. They have partnered with Evergreen Skateparks to design and build the skatepark through a series of workshops. Youth of Today: Stephan August

DIG dropped this new one featuring Stephan August tearing up street spots, pools and trails out in California! We’ve seen a few videos (and even featured a few) from Stephan in the past and it’s clear this is one guy you will want to keep an eye out for! If you want to learn more about him, check out his interview on the DIG website that dropped with this!

Animal Jam at 5050 Skatepark

The guys at Animal Bikes threw at jam at 5050 Skatepark in New York recently. The park was packed full of riders and it looks like plenty of real good riding went down. Check out some highlights in this video, then check out some photos from that day by Chris Marshall over on the DIG site.

“Jams definitely help push BMX, are fun, and a great mix of all styles of riding. Especially rolling with your crew and meeting other riders are worth it alone, on top of the sick sessions that go down. I don’t ride or go to these things usually since there are too many people and I always run into someone and pop out a knee or hip, but besides having to watch out for people they are great. 5050 is a great mix of all kinds of obstacles and a real deal hardcore skatepark atmosphere. It is a great place to have for BMX in the winter in the NYC area plus a place to stay sane while there is snow on the ground. Get out and support it for the rest of the season if you did or didn’t make the jam either way. Thanks to all those who made it out and thanks to 50/50 for throwing it.” – Ralph Sinisi

Common Crew in Arizona

Damn this is good! DIG just dropped this video from the trip to Arizona the Common Crew took recently! These guys have been killing it for a while now and it’s clear they aren’t slowing down one big! Check out the video, then take a look at some photos from the trip here.

“California’s Common Crew sardined themselves into three cars for their first ever out of state group trip and made the journey to Arizona for some classic BMX road trip fun, catching some wild clips along the way. Francis Castro describes it perfectly; “From cramming thirteen people into two rooms meant for four, to a barrage of tinder matches, this trip was everything you would expect BMX to bring you; good times, great laughs, and memories worth talking about for a very long time. And, all of this made possible by the magic of minimum wage labor…”

In the Cut: Nearly BMX – Behind the Scenes

DIG followed the Nearly crew out to Spain for a trip a little while back for some good times and riding. Fred Murray pulled out his point and shoot and filmed a ton of clips ranging from some great riding to hilarious antics they got into off their bikes that he compiled into this new edit. Well worth a look!

“A few weeks back I flew out to Majorca, Spain with Nearly’s Alex Donnachie, Kriss Kyle, Jason Phelan, David Grant, Cain Martin, Si Gibb and Isaac Lesser, and when I wasn’t shooting photos I pointed my step-bro cam at people in video mode. It’s hard to get across what a trip was actually like through the means of twenty odd photos but hopefully this behind-the-scenes video will give you more of a feel of what actually happens on these things. Despite the rain in Spain, the guys managed to clock up a bunch of amazing footage for Nearly 4k and David and Alex spent half the time riding each other’s bikes.
