Big Tricks and Bad Crashes at Simple Session

March 3, 2014

Michael Beran might have had a rough go with Simple Session the other weekend, but it would appear that he still was able to make the best of it! Take a little look at his experience in this new video from Epic TV.

“Czech BMXer Michael Beran is recovering from a torn ACL, but that’s not going to make him miss his favorite comp of the year, the Red Bull Simple Session, going down in the Saku Arena in Tallinn, Estonia. Unfortunately fate conspires against him. First his bike is stolen, then his sponsors send a new one without brakes and finally he suffers a terrible crash in practice. He may want to get back in park but he knows when to call it a day. The rest of the trip is spent having a blast in Estonia, which ain’t a bad way to recuperate. “

FFWD BMX En France

February 26, 2014

Sometimes BMX trips don’t go to plan… In fact, I’m willing to bet there’s never been a single one that has actually gone to the exact plan… This new FFWD BMX video shows you just because nothing went to plan, it doesn’t mean good times can’t be had!

“With parts of the UK suffering from the ‘wettest January on record’ Mike King, Matt Priest, Oli Jones, and James Cunningham, decided to go on an impromptu trip to France, maybe even Belgium if the weather cooperated. Well…it didn’t. Instead, they ended up in Abbeville’s 80100 park, where they had kindly been invited to ride behind closed doors – although this wasn’t exactly the case when they got there. But they persevered and moved on to the new, indoor skate park in Calais where they were hoping to get another (semi) private session. But with bad luck already stalking them they showed up to the park with only 45 minutes until their ferry departed for England. They rode it anyway and missed their ferry. All in all, a pretty successful trip.” – Epic TV

Northside – -20 Sessions

February 14, 2014

The weather might be cold over in Finland, but they’re keeping the sessions hot indoors! Check out this mix edit that Eki Vainikka put together for EpicTV! Tons of goodness in this!

“The Finnish winter poses some obvious problems to any local athletes who aren’t hockey players, downhill skiers, ski jumpers, or biathletes — you know, rifle and skis. First and foremost, the cold, which regularly dips into the negative double digits, and that’s Fahrenheit, bro. When it gets this cold, the tough get going. BMXers, on the other hand, head indoors to cozy, well-heated skate parks like the Sokeva indoor park in Southern Finland. Check out this session with some of the country’s best riders as they dismantle the ramps and fun boxes. Don’t miss young Jopi Toijonen’s briflip at the 1:00 mark.“

Learn To Barrel Roll In 10 Minutes?

February 10, 2014

The title for this one is pretty questionable, but I guess the way kids are riding these days it might be possible. Get some advice from Alex Coleborn on Barrel Rolls and then send a few yourself!

“Have a spare moment? Want to learn to barrel roll on BMX? Well, this video probably won’t get you all the way there, but it will get you started. In an ideal world you would have a foam pit in which you could practice. In a less than ideal world you would have a ‘resi’ or resin ramp, which is a softer version of a normal ramp. In the real world you have a chipped concrete fun box that is usually mobbed by children on scooters. No matter, we push onward! Listen closely as Alex details the ways to take off, spot the landing, and stomp the trick. Then watch as his friend makes numerous painful-looking attempts. Hopefully it will be a little easier for you.“

A Winter Day with Bob Manchester

February 5, 2014

This is what I’d call a good day! Follow Bob Manchester around for a day where he gives you a look into his home life along with what he gets himself into in a regular day with plenty of riding! Style for miles, that’s for sure!

“It’s safe to say professional BMX rider, Bob Manchester doesn’t quite live like the rest of us. In this video Fast Forward BMX spends a day with the Monster Energy, Stay Strong Clothing and Crucial BMX team rider to see how life back home is working out for him. It doesn’t look half bad! After starting the day with a sausage breakfast sourced entirely from his parents’ farm, Bob meets up with Matt Priest and Johnny Elia and goes to shred a concrete bowl before heading indoors for another hard session in Corby with good friends. Dream livin’ eh? Oh and get real, Bob doesn’t really spend his days shooting his sponsors merchandise. music: Airhuman – Young Wing – www.airhuman.com“

Sergio Layos’ Ramps and Trails

February 4, 2014

Epic TV caught up with Sergio Layos to take a closer look at his ramp and trails spot he had built in Madrid, Spain! This looks like a super good spot to session! Take a peek at Sergio tearing the place up. Style for miles!

“Despite its favorable riding conditions, Madrid, Spain is not a place with many ramp options for BMXers. But the ones it has are absolute classics. We’re taking you inside the compound of Sergio Layos, a Spanish pro who brought years of experience (and his buttery style) to the construction of his very own ramp park. This is one sweet dirt/mini ramp combo. Considering this was shot in late December, the weather aint bad, either. The mini ramp took him a year to build, but the craftsmanship and vision shine through. Just watch out for the park dogs, they always want to get in on the action. “

Welcome to Poland – Damian Onufrak Winter Edit

January 27, 2014

It might be cold outside, but Total BMX‘s Damian Onufrak turns up the heat in this new video! Take a peek!

“Didn’t someone once say, ‘The coldest winter I ever spent was a Polish winter’? No? Well, it was something like that. The point is that Polish winters are not kind to bikers. Luckily, Wroclaw native, Damian Onufrak has a nice, warm park that he can nestle into when the thermometer drops below zero and the snow begins to drift. Onufrak’s specialty is mixing really technical street moves with big box-jumping tricks. While he’s at it, the kid puts more dents and scratches on his ride than a car in a demolition derby. But you can’t make an omelet without breaking some eggs, right? Someone actually did say that. “

Dirty Spots with Godziek – Episode 3

January 25, 2014

Here’s a little trails action from Poland for you to start your Saturday off right! Dawid Goziek gives you a little history on these trails and gives you a good look at some riding! Hit that play button!

“Welcome to Milanowek (pronounced: mee-la-nofku) Poland, a little town close to Warsaw that was once a holiday retreat for the Polish elite. Aside from having a slew of historic, stately manors, it also happens to been one of the centers of action in the Polish dirt jumping scene. For over 10 years the giant dirt mounds have risen and evolved with the skills of the local riders who still lovingly maintain them every day when they come to ride and shoot video clips. But with a generational migration towards park riding, Milanowek regulars are trying to add smaller jumps to entice the young’uns. Regardless of changes, it remains one of the most interesting and technical dirt parks in Poland. Watch Dawid Godziek and the local crew prove it.“
