If there’s one thing I’ve learned living in Minnesota, it’s that the winters suck balls. Erik Elstran and Seth Peterson are right there with me and I’m sure they will tell you the same thing. In the winter, things start getting a little weird and the creativity gets maxed out. This new video from Sunday of the guys showing you how they passed the time this winter is a MUST SEE!
“Erik Elstran and Seth Peterson live in Minneapolis where winter can be mighty tough. They survive the winters by doing what most riders in colder climates do which is head indoors. Both of these guys are known for their creativity and it doesn’t stop just because they went indoors. Erik looks like he’s figured out how to balance frontside crankslides. He also looks like he’s paid the price too.” – Sunday
It’s videos like this that kind of throw me for a loop. The scene in the Minneapolis / St. Paul area has always been super strong, and it looks like it just keeps growing. The reason its throws me for a loop is that the guys I grew up riding with from there are now the old guys and there’s a new generation of riders that just kill it coming up. These guys have all been inducted into the Skworl team. Check out this video of the younger, new additions riding with the older, original crew at 3rd Lair.
“After some talk we decided to add; Trenton Neiss, Derek Strong, Eugene Serrato, Jake Hendrickson and Nikolai Fjelstad DeSantiago to the team. These dudes all kill it. We will have more to come, Just wanted to use winter park clips while its still winter. You will be seeing more of these dudes and the rest of the team!!” – Mike Gelle
Over the weekend, Profile Racing and Madera loaded up for a couple of Midwest skatepark stops. They made their way to Bluff Valley’s Over the Top Skatepark on Saturday. There was a real good turn out and a ton of people were going off. Jeff Klugiewicz, Matt Coplon, Jeff Dowhen, Mike Hinkens, Grant Casstelluzzo, Mark Mulville, Wade Lajlar, Dylan McCauley and a few others were in the house along with Reed Stark and Erik Elstran who came out to ride for the day. This video that Blake Waters made gives you a look at some of the riding that went down. Expect a full photogallery tomorrow from me and another edit from the Profile guys showing you the rest of the trip!
Sunday‘s Seth Peterson had a TON of leftover clips from the original Lone Star to the North Star edit so he had this edit featuring the leftovers put together. This video is loaded up with goodness and the ender from Erik Elstran is dirty.
“Seth Peterson came at you with his own style of BMX in his From the Lone Star to the North Star video a few months back. Here are some of his left over moves that didn’t quite make the cut. They’re still very awesome! Watch the original video after the break.”
This past week was a busy one. With the new year kicking in we saw a ton of end of 2012, beginning of 2013 edits along with a heavy amount of sponsor changes. I dug through the past weeks posts in the Daily Section to pick out the best videos from the week for you guys to check out. This week we’ve got 15 videos featuring the likes of Miles Rogoish, Erik Elstran, Grant Germain, Phil Demattia, Jeff Kocsis, James Meliota, Steve Woodward, Ben and Levi Hucke, Alex Donnachie, Rob Ridge, Matt Closson and more for you to check out. Let’s get into this!
About damn time Kyle Stark uploaded this! Here’s Erik Elstran’s absolutely phenomenal part from the “Team Dilly Is The Man” video that came out a while back. This video will blow your friggen mind. Hit play now!
This video is awesome, but sad at the same time. It’s awesome because Mike Hinkens, Jeff Dowhen, Erik Elstran and Dylan McCauley all throw down some awesome riding. It’s sad because it was announced this past week that Lake Owen was sold to new owners and they have no intention running it as an action sports camp anymore. I’m just glad I had the opportunity to spend some time up there before they shut down a place as amazing as that. RIP Lake Owen!
“Spot check on Lake Owen! Arik Elstran and his mouse-trap riding style take on this ramp Mecca in Northern Wisconsin. Along with Arik, The Milwaukee Crew toss in some hot barspins, roof rides and fakie grinds adding fuel to Arik’s obstacle-course riding. Together these guys throw down some serious original moves! Filmed by Grant Castelluzzo.” – Network A
