Fly Bikes – Shane Weston 2014 Video

March 14, 2014

Here it is! The new Shane Weston video from Fly Bikes you have probably been see in getting hyped up on Instagram or Twitter the past few days! Check out Shane putting a hurting on a bunch of rad spots, then take a closer look at his signature Isla frame and bars in a quick video below! This is one (or two) videos you don’t want to pass up!

““Shane’s one in a million, they definitely broke the mold when they made him, his personality is as big as his hair & matched only by his love for guttural screaming, bike throwing & basketball. It’s easy to see that he doesn’t follow a regular path and has a unique approach to riding, It’s easy to fit in, but it sets him apart from the crowd and his bike set up is designed to reflect his style of riding.
Enjoy watching Shane put his new and beefed-up Fly Bikes “Isla” signature line through its paces as well as give us the breakdown of the complete line and reason why its designed the way it is.
”

Kevin Kalkoff Leaves Fly Bikes

March 11, 2014

Kevin Kalkoff Off Fly Bikes BMX

Well… Here’s a bit of surprising news! Kevin Kalkoff has decided to step away from the Fly Bikes team and his signature line after years of being with the brand. No word if he has a new sponsor lined up or what, but I’m sure we’ll find out sooner than later.

“I’d like to thank Flybikes for all the support they gave me over the years, giving me the opportunity to do what I like, along all the travels and people I got to met. While being very appreciative of all they did for me, I feel it was time for us to part away, wishing only the best to everyone at flybikes.” – Kevin Kalkoff

Pre-Coastin

February 25, 2014

Two in a row from Defgrip today! Check out this video Jon Edwards put together giving us a behind the scenes look at the creation of the ramps that Fly Bikes used in their “Coastin'” video we have reposted below! Maybe it’s because I’ve been way into wood working and power tools lately, or the serious style in the riding… I was loving every second of this.

“With the Fly Bikes DIY aesthetic for transitions and spots, Ruben Alcantara and Sergio Layos set about creating the structures for the Coastin Adventure. Located at the new Fly Bikes studio, in the beautiful homeland city of Vigo, Northern Spain. The Makita was primed and the five feet transitions were cut and rode. The following short documents this afternoon.
