February 25, 2013

Fly Bikes BMX

Making the rounds, I stopped by the Fly Bikes booth to say what’s up to U.S team manager, John Povah, and take a look at what they had on display. Fly have always done an amazing job to focus on quality and aesthetics of things, so it’s always a treat looking at their stuff in person. They’ve got a few changes for 2013 as well, so let’s take a look!

Product: Fly – Manual Brake Set

February 11, 2013

Fly Bikes BMX Brakes

This is pretty rad, Fly Bikes now offer a brake kit that includes brakes, a brake cable, pads and a brake lever that is based off their Clasico design with a lower price tag. You can read more about the kit below, then hit this link to get a closer look at each piece of the kit.

“Another new product for 2013 is our “Manual” brake set. The complete set includes brake, pads, cable and lever. We’ve used the proven design of our earlier “Clasico” brake and lever to produce a complete brake package where you benefit from the same amazing quality, features and braking power, but now without the inflated price tag. By eliminating the CNC process, not only did we produce this complete brake set much cheaper, but it also has the benefit of having rounded, stylized more finger friendly edges ……… Its a difference you can feel!!”

Fly Bikes – Annecy B-Roll

January 22, 2013

Fly Bikes have re-edited the Annecy edit they dropped the other week to include a bunch of unseen b-roll footage. If you haven’t seen this video yet, you’re completely blowing it and need to hit play. If you already saw the first version, definitely hit play again because this is too good and the added clips are real good.

“During this summer this video was filmed in and around Kevin’s home town Annecy, France. Ruben, Stefan and Matt spent 4 days relaxing, swimming and riding some amazing spots.”

Fly Bikes in Vigo and San Sebastian

January 15, 2013

When was the last time you saw a Fly Bikes video that wasn’t absolutely amazing? This new on featuring Kevin Kalkoff, Stefan Lantschner, Courage Adams and Ruben Rodriguez is a definite MUST SEE! Enjoy!

“As the warm days of this past summer wind down, members of the Fly team visit the birth place of Fly Bikes itself, Vigo Spain for its annual “Marisquiño contest”, and although hanging out and seeing old friends is always fun, enjoying the many untapped street spots that Vigo has to offer is the real reason the crew’s in town. With an extra week, Kevin Kalkoff, Stefan Lantschner, Courage Adams and Rubén Rodriguez make good use of their limited time, and when they’ve had their fill of Vigo they head North and spend they’re remaining few days shredding the streets of San Sebastian.”

The chain is available in black and silver colors. It comes with a single pre-installed half-link to give you proper dropout adjustment and a master link for easy installation.

I’ve personally ran the Tractor Chain for the past two years and it has held up amazing for me. If you aren’t a fan of half-link chains, but want that adjustability for 25 or 28-tooth sprockets, this is definitely worth taking a look at. The strength is excellent, it was easy to install and I haven’t had to worry about bashing my knee on the stem like I have had to with other BMX chains in the past. You can’t go wrong with strong and reliable.

What do you think about the chain? Do you have any questions? Let us know what you’re thinking below!

Note: This post contains affiliate links and we could receive a commission if you were to make a purchase. We would never tell you about a product unless we were completely stoked on it. In this case, I’ve ran the chain personally for a few years and still do today. That’s why it’s worth talking about it!
