Unclicked Podcast – Gary Young

June 29, 2020

After a bit of a hiatus, the Unclicked Podcast is back! Things have changed up and Dennis Enarson has taken a bit of a back seat on it and the Our BMX crew are going to keep it going. Here’s the first episode back with the one and only Gary Young! This one covers a ton of ground with a ton of great stories, so hit play and check out what was talked about!

“Unclicked is available on itunes, spotify, or wherever else you listen to podcasts.

Season 2, Episode 1. Things have changed a little bit with the Unclicked Podcast. Dennis got a bit burned out, so we struck a deal where I’d (Ryan Fudger) would take over the podcast and he’d still be involved as much or as little as he’d like. Fortunately, we have several podcasts in the bag already and Dennis has been part of every single one. New logo, new co-host, new location, and a new dog that interrupts the podcast, but it’s still the same Unclicked. The first episode back is with the one and only Gary Young, who happens to be my best friend and have one of the best table tops in BMX. Check the timecodes below if you want to jump around:

4:15 – Gary’s unexpected upbringing
15:05 – Choosing to not drink
17:10 – Early influences
24:40 – Turning down a Red Bull sponsorship
32:00 – Contests then vs contests now
38:00 – “What was it like being invited X Games…as a judge?”
47:20 – BMX gymnastics
54:40 – Gary likes hitting cameramen
1:02:50 – Is Gary an undercover dickhead?
1:06:40 – Choosing between Hoffman Bikes and Macneil Bikes
1:13:20 – Juggling being a BMX pro and having a family
1:18:30 – The key to longevity.
1:22:10 – Fracturing his skull and getting charged 60k
1:27:52 – Rough patch filming his new Sunday part
1:29:40 – The curved wall to curve wall saga
1:35:50 – Life after being a BMX pro

Sunday Bikes – Chapped Clips

May 11, 2020

Back before the shut downs and quarantine rules kicked in, the Sunday Bikes squad got a proper team trip in where they spent 10 days in Las Vegas stacking clips galore for this new video filled with dialed riding from the whole squad. They ended up with 15 minutes of pure goodness, so get on that play button because this is a Must See for sure!

“Remember when slappin’ fives was chill and chapped lips was the biggest thing we had to worry about? Back in March we whipped the van out to Las Vegas and flew in the rest of the team for 10 days of amazing spots, good times and dry climates. Everyone’s lips were chapped by day 2. Enjoy Brett Silva, Broc Raiford, Julian Arteaga, Aaron Ross, Gary Young, Erik Elstran, Jake Seeley, Alec Siemon, Jared Duncan and Justin Schual in “Chapped Clips”.

Gary Young – Least Favorite / Most Favorite

April 17, 2020

The Our BMX crew sat Gary Young down and had him go over his least favorite and most favorite video parts. This is a pretty wild one since Gary chose his old Dirt Bros. part, and then his Vans Illustrated video part. Two video parts with a whole bunch of time between them.

“The basic concept here is that we’re going to sit down riders who have had a plethora of video parts and have them discuss their least favorite (not to be confused with not liking) and most favorite. Jog the ol’ memory box and talk about a different period of their life and what went into making those parts…

Next up, we have the one and only Gary Young. If you’d like to watch the parts he discusses without commentary, click below.” – Our BMX

Sweetwater Bike Park Grand Opening

January 6, 2020

There’s a wild new bike park that opened up near San Diego called the Sweetwater Bike Park. This place looks like a TON of fun and it looks like Mike “Hucker” Clark, Gary Young, Anthony Napolitan, TJ Ellis and a ton of other people took advantage of the place during its grand opening. This is a lot of raw footage, but it gives you an idea of what the place has to offer. It’s safe to say there’s another reason to make your way out west to San Diego!

“Random story: I actually drove by this place a few times in the last few months and it was super confusing to me. It looked like a BMX track, but it was obviously not finished and I couldn’t really get a good look at it. Little did I know that it was an in-progress bike park that was free and open to the public. I headed out the grand opening for a little pre-session with the dudes and here’s the raw cut along with a GoPro preview of the park thanks to Anthony Napoiltan and Justin Mclintock. If you’re in the San Diego area, check out the Sweetwater Bike Park at 6065 San Miguel Rd, Bonita, CA. It’s open from 9:30am to sunset. Fair warning, they don’t allow pegs because of the nature of the way the place is made. ” – Our BMX

Here’s some other info on the place on the SDparks.org website.

What do you think of the Sweetwater Bike Park? Would you take a trip out to San Diego to ride the place? Anyone have any places similar to this in their area? Let us now what you’re thinking in the comments down below!

.. We just need a Gorge Road style bike park here in the U.S… Now that would be wild!

Odyssey & Sunday at Woodward East

October 25, 2019

This past summer some of the Sunday Bikes and Odyssey team took a trip out to Woodward East to spend a few days cruising all over camp and hanging out with the campers. Here’s a look at what they got into during their stay! Plenty of bangers to take in!

“Tom Dugan, Broc Raiford, Justin Spriet, and Gary Young headed to Woodward with Sunday riders Jake Seeley and Alec Siemon for a week of ripping ramps and plazas and chillin’ with rad campers and staff. The boys took full advantage of the world-class facilities camp has to offer and came back with five minutes of killer footage…. Huge thanks to Woodward for taking such good care of us and to everybody we chilled with out there! We gotta make it back for sure…..”

2019 Vans BMX Pro Cup Huntington Beach – Practice Day 1

September 13, 2019

The 2019 Vans BMX Pro Cup is wrapping up in Huntington Beach, California this weekend and all the heavy hitters are in town to blast the bowl. Here’s a look at what went down during the first practice, along with some GoPro footage of Gary Young crushing it as always. Expect things just to get crazier as the weekend progresses!

“Lines are being sorted and moves are getting ironed out at the 2019 HB Vans Pro Cup World Championships in Huntington Beach, CA. Get a glimpse into what everyone has in mind for the Semi- Finals and Finals.” – DIG

“We strapped a GoPro Hero 7 Black to Gary Young and then he proceeded to go way, way too hard for a little ol’ course preview video. A monstrous 270 transfer, a downside pegs around a corner, and a ton of Gary Young magic in between…here’s your first glance at the last stop of the Vans BMX Pro Cup Finals in Huntington Beach, CA.” – Our BMX

Vans – Lost In Grand Cayman

March 5, 2019

Here’s one we’ve been anticipating for a few weeks now! To officially welcome Dennis Enarson to the Vans team, Dennis, Gary Young and Kevin Peraza took a trip to Grand Cayman to ride the local park and soak up the sun! As expected, this video turned out absolutely amazing with excellent riding and dialed film work. If you are buried in way too much snow like we are, this would be a dream come true of a trip right about now!

“The Vans BMX Team welcomes Dennis Enarson to the family island-style. Tag along as the crew embark on a journey to re-discover one of the heaviest concrete parks ever built in the most unlikely of places, on Grand Cayman Island in the middle of the of Caribbean Sea, the infamous Black Pearl. Watch Dennis Enarson, Gary Young and Kevin Peraza shred 62,000 square feet of unforgiving Cayman concrete; the first tricks for Dennis Enarson on his new journey with Vans BMX.

Odyssey – 10 Spot Leftovers

February 28, 2019

It turns out Odyssey had a bunch of leftover questions and answers from their 10 Spot series. Instead of letting them go to waste, they decided to do this mix where Justin Spriet, Broc Raiford, Matt Nordstrom, Gary Young, Tom Dugan, Travis Hughes and Aaron Ross answer a few more questions! Hit play and get to know these guys just a little better!

“Narrowing these down to just 10 per rider is tough so we decided to bring some bonus leftover questions to life.”
