Unless you have been completely out of the loop, a few weeks back iPath started making a few real big moves in their BMX department for 2012. They picked up the BMX shoe guru Brian Osborne and shortly after announced the addition of Van Homan, Seth Kimbrough, Shane Weston and Alex Magallan. Now, unless you just don’t care about BMX, this is a pretty big deal. The brand needed a pretty big change to really start appealing to riders again. Without any doubt, I think they hit things right on the nuts with this crew.
With all of the goodness coming from them, I decided it would probably be a good time to take a closer look at the brands products. Alex Magallan clocks some clips on his iPhone for Ipath before the phone took a dive to it’s death… Always psyched on some footage of Alex!
Well, unless you don’t pay too close attention to news that pops up, it was pretty clear that Ipath was putting together a hell of a good team for 2012. Here’s the official release from them confirming all the news floating around the past few weeks.
“Encinitas, CA (January 30, 2012): Ipath Footwear, fresh off of strong showings at the recent Long Beach and New York City Agenda trade shows, has formed a BMX team led by industry legend, Van Homan. Homan, an X-Games medalist in street, dirt, and park is joined by fellow team members Seth Kimbrough, Shane Weston and Alex Magallan.
While Ipath’s roots run deep in skate, they have been widely accepted and welcomed into both the BMX and surf communities as the lifestyle footwear brand for the active youth culture.
Ipath will feature several styles launching in Fall 2012 to support their new BMX team.
Please visit ipath.com for more information. ”
I can’t wait to see what the team gets into.
Head over to the IPath website and check out a quick interview with Mr. Chester Blacksmith.
Chester Blacksmith is now riding for Ipath Shoes. Here’s a few words from the man himself about the news…
“I’m super pumped to announce that I will be riding for the IPath BMX team. It’s a big honer for me to represent Ipath for 2012. I’m hyped on their products and look. Big Thanks to Mike Ardelean, Andrew Jackson and the rest of the IPath crew for giving me this opportunity“
