“Hard Times” With The Daily Grind

Although it’s been tough to really sell DVD’s these days with the internet becoming the go-to outlet to reach the most people versus really appreciating the quality and hard work that goes into a video, there are still brands and riders out there that are putting in the hard work to make a DVD happen. The crew over at The Daily Grind are pretty known for their quality over quantity ideals and because of that we always know we can trust that what they’re producing is going to be proper.
We caught wind that the crew have been busy stacking clips for the brands 2nd full-length DVD and after seeing some “scraps” from a few edits that popped up, we were really curious what the story was behind it. We decided to get ahold of Jon “Gremlin” Bechtold and Ryan Howard to talk about what the story is with the new DVD and what we can expect from it! The Daily Grind at Davenport Skatepark

Some of The Daily Grind crew loaded up and made their way to the Davenport, Iowa skatepark for a session and to drink some 40’s and milk! Check out what went down when Zack Gerber wasn’t throwing up!

“We recently made the trip to Davenport Iowa to pick up new, taller 8.85 century bars and film a bit for the Dvd. We rode the amazing Davenport skatepark one night and ended up banging this out pretty easily.

When you think about all of the gnarly shit that a BMX bike gets put through these days, it’s easy to get worried about parts snapping, cracking and popping. One dude, who I know has been putting parts through hell and back for years is The Daily Grind‘s owner, Jon “Gremlin” Betchtold, who has heard and seen all of those things happen and that’s why he went into business to create some products that are built to withstand the hell you can put them through.
We figured it was a good time to catch up with Gremlin to take a closer look at his setup that he is currently working with these days! She might be a little rough around the edges with scratches and dents, but that’s nothing but character and proof that it’s been put to the test. Let’s take a closer look!

Sometimes in order to have a good time, you need to put in some hours to build something awesome. The Daily Grind crew recently got a crew together, pulled out the welder, a few bags of quick crete and a jackhammer and went to work on creating a do it yourself spot that was a pegs dream come true! Once everything was set and ready to ride, they rallied the troops for a day filled with good times.
