Try 110% or Fail Trying: Fighting words for Kyle Baldock

March 15, 2012

This is inspirational as hell.

“Backyard rally racing in beater cars, backflips on the basketball court and riding solo in his private training facility is just a typical day in Pittsworth for pro BMX rider Kyle Baldock. With a population of 3,500, Baldock is well-known around these parts of Australia, but it’s his explosive riding – like throwing a double backflip on first try – that got him noticed in the BMX world, country to country, contest win after contest win. Hear what truly inspires him to go all out, and find out how he uses the death of his brother to further fuel his drive for progression. Experience his breakthrough Dew Tour season all over again with action from each stop. The Alli Show documents the lives of athlete’s changing the face of action sports, learn more about this fearless Aussie BMXer in this episode featuring Kyle Baldock.” – Alli Sports

Catching Up With Kyle Baldock

Unit Riders loaded David Girsch and Kyle Baldock up in a limo for a trip to the Airport. While they were driving, David asked Kyle a bunch of questions about how things have been and what he’s got cooking for this year. Should be a pretty wild year for the dude.

Dew Tour Las Vegas – Results & Videos

October 16, 2011

“Scotty Cranmer Tops the Park Podium and Earns Dew Cup; Kyle Baldock Wins Dirt and Dennis Enarson Takes Dew Cup

Las Vegas, Nev. – Oct. 15, 2011 – The Dew Tour Championships wrapped up BMX Park and Dirt seasons today under the hot Las Vegas sun. Scotty Cranmer walked away from the park course with the first place finish and his first Dew Cup. Cranmer began his second run knowing that a top score would give him the season win and landed a big tailwhip on the drop in gap, a backflip double tailwhip and a corked 720 down the step down. He threw his bike in the air as the buzzer sounded, knowing his tricks would be good enough to jump ahead of Dennis Enarson’s second place run and Daniel Dhers’ third place effort.

“The Dew Cup is something I thought was out of my reach,” said Cranmer after his win. “I just needed to have faith in myself. I’m at a good place right now, and my family and friends fueled me to get to this point. I’m so grateful for them and this Dew Cup. This is unbelievable.”

Kyle Baldock saved some energy from the BMX Park Final to gain the win on the BMX Dirt course later in the day, riding with a separated shoulder. His top run included a flip bar over the first set, a seven on the second set, frontie third set and three down whip to whip back, marking Baldock’s first BMX Dirt win ever. Ben Wallace made his first career trip to the podium finishing in second place, with Brett Banasiewicz rounding out the podium in third. With consistent dirt riding throughout the season, Enarson’s fourth place finish gave him enough points to come out on top for the Dew Cup.

“To come out and win is crazy,” said Baldock following his win. “I just have a good time and ride. It makes me so happy because I don’t ride dirt much at all, so now I can come be a contender for the Dew Cup next year.”

The Dew Tour Championships continues tomorrow with Skate and BMX Vert on the ramp over the Hard Rock Hotel’s Beach Club pool. The four-day event culminates with a season-end Awards ceremony, turned into a pool party with DJ Mindless Behavior spinning through the afternoon.

You can catch all of the final runs from today’s top finishers here.
