Dew Tour Salt Lake City Dirt Finals and Best Trick
Last night the Dirt Finals for the Salt Lake City Dew Tour stop went down. It looks like Brett Banasiewicz dropped the hammer to take the win. Check out the above video with highlights from the finals, then check out the guys hucking themselves for best trick courtesy of Ride BMX.
First Look: Dew Tour Salt Lake City Dirt Course with Kyle Baldock
I’ve been psyched on this years Dew Tour courses since it’s actually giving a lot of the guys troubles with making it through the lines. The actual trails riders aren’t struggling which goes to show the difference from dirt riders and all around contest riders. Kyle Baldock gives you the first look at this weekends course in Salt Lake City.
Dew Tour Portland – Dirt Final Results
“Dennis Enarson and Kyle Baldock were neck and neck in the BMX Dirt Final at the Portland Invitational with Enarson ultimately topping the podium. Enarson’s win marks his 4th overall and his second win in Portland (2007). With a score of 91.75, Enarson beat out Baldock with a truck driver down the roll in, a bar spin to tuck, a cannonball to superman, and a tailwhip the long and low. He finished one run with a 360 suicide double tuck and another with an opposite truck. Baldock scored a 91.44 behind him and Brandon Dosch rounded out the podium with a 90.62.
“It feels cool,” said Enarson of his win. “I didn’t even have to do any new tricks really. I just rode the course as well as I could and did what I am comfortable with. I think that helped because every trick I did, I knew I could do it. I wasn’t scared going into the jump.”
This year’s Portland Invitational marked the debut of BMX Dirt for the 2011 season. The new course was designed by TJ Lavin, former BMX pro, who created jumps that required more technical riding than year’s past. The dirt contest took place outdoors in Portland for the first time in Dew Tour history, providing a backdrop of the Willamette River and city skyline.
Enarson, Baldock and Dosch headline the list of the world’s top BMX dirt riders who will compete in Salt Lake City, Utah at the Dew Tour Toyota Challenge, September 8-11, before vying for the Dew Cup at the Dew Tour Championships in Las Vegas, Nev., October 13th-16th.

Dew Tour Portland – Park Results
“Portland, Ore. – August 13, 2011 – Scotty Cranmer and Kyle Baldock battled it out to the last minutes of the BMX Park Final at the Portland Invitational. Cranmer broke through to finish first with a run that included a tailwhip to no-footed can-can, a no-handed front flip and a flip double whip over the hitching post – the banger that ended his run. Cranmer’s final score of 92.00 allowed him to pull ahead of Baldock’s 91.38. Daniel Dhers rounded out the podium in third place. This was Cranmer’s first win since Salt Lake City in 2007, and his fifth Dew Tour win overall.
“I watched the replay and it still doesn’t make sense that I actually landed it,” said Cranmer of his flip double whip. “My foot felt like it was miles away and somehow made it to the pedal. It was in God’s hands – I thank him for it. But also, none of my friends got hurt today and I thank God for that more than anything.”
Tonight’s BMX Park Final marked the second stop of the event on this season’s Dew Tour. The current rankings stand until the riders compete for the Dew Cup at the Dew Tour Championships in Las Vegas, Nev., October 13-14. Following their strong finishes in Ocean City, Cranmer, Baldock and Dhers have placed themselves as top contenders for the 2011 BMX park Dew Cup. “If I did somehow get the Dew Cup, it would be fantastic,” said Cranmer. “It would be something amazing to check off the list. I’ve got 2nd place before, so I’d love to get 1st, but either way, I’m psyched. Let’s just live in this day.”
