How To Remove A Stuck Bolt On A BMX Hub
Need to see how to remove a stuck bolt on a BMX hub?
If you have ever ran a female axle on your bike, there’s a chance at some point you might have run into an issue where your bolt on one side gets stuck and you can’t get it out, with the other side loose and the axle spinning. The guys at Lux BMX put together this video with a great trick for getting the bolt off without stripping the hub down to clamp down on the axle (likely causing damage in the process). In this video Evan Jaques shows you how to remove a stuck bolt on a BMX hub by simply connecting the loose side to one side of the dropout, and then loosening the stuck bolt. By doing this, you prevent the axle from spinning, which is a factor in why it’s tricky to break the bolt free.
This can also be applied to a rear hub as well, just connect one side of the hub to the dropout on your frame instead of the fork.
Quick, easy and doesn’t damage the hub!

Shout out to Lux BMX with this great tip. We can imagine this will save a lot of headaches and hassle for riders out there. It could also save an axle or two from being destroyed in the process, haha.
How To Tighten A BMX Chain
Want to learn how to tighten a BMX chain?
When it comes to working on a BMX bike, it’s a pretty easy and straightforward process, but there are some tricks and techniques that make things easier and faster so you can spend less time fixing and more time riding. Lux BMX put together this quick video showing you how to tighten a BMX chain properly. In this video, Evan Jaques shows you a trick that not only gets your chain tight, be helps to center your wheel in the stays making things real dialed. It’s always a huge pain when you go to tighten your wheel, then the chain ends up with a bunch of slack, so doing it the right way will help prevent that from happening.
This trick applies to BMX bikes without chain tensioners. If you have chain tensioners, they take a lot of the work out of holding the wheel in place while you tighten because your axle is being held tightly in place with those screws. Either way, this quick video has some really solid advice, especially for those of you new to working on a BMX bike!

Lux BMX – Alex Hiam “Aeterna” B-Sides
The other week we got a look at Alex Hiam’s “Aeterna” Section, but it turns out he had a ton of great footage leftover. Instead of letting it go to waste, they whipped up this B-Sides with plenty of bangers that we’re amazi
“When Alex first got wind of filming for Aeterna he wasted no time between, life commitments, injuries and a pretty fully booked travel year(s). Alex was able to work with Mike Vockenson and created something awesome. Like most full-length DVDs there will always be “leftover, B-side” footage that never made the DVD. Alex had a great deal to choose from and as you will see the word B-side, doesn’t really match the footage. Press play and enjoy.” – LUX BMX
On The Couch – The Lowdown with LUXBMX founders Evan & Mitch
When it comes to BMX shops, it always seems like the owners are always working hard behind the scenes, but you don’t really hear or see a lot of online. The Lux BMX owners decided to sit down on the couch to talk a little bit about what they have going on and how they’re doing things with the shutdowns all over the world. They’re coming up on their 10 year anniversary, and despite things getting weird, they’re continuing to go strong! It’s safe to say most shops are doing what these guys are doing, so support your local BMX shop if you have it!
“The brains behind LUXBMX store, Evan and Mitch sit down and discuss, the shop going forward, the crazy times we are living in and what that means for LUX, 10th anniversary celebrations and much more.” – Lux BMX
