A few months ago, Chris Rye announced that he was in the process of putting together a collectors edition box set that would include all of the Road Fools videos that Props produced in its time along with some bonus footage and extra features that would help show its legendary history to the fullest. For those of you who have been riding BMX for years, you most likely have some good memories from the hours you spent watching the videos, getting stoked, remembering the lines and riding that has pushed BMX to new levels like myself.
A few weeks back, the box set was finally completed and recently released for riders from around the world to relive all of the miles that were racked up in its nearly 15 year history. I was fortunate enough to get my hands on a copy to check out and figured I would put together this review for you to check out.

Insight: Shadow Conspiracy – Multi-Tool
One thing that I think most riders need to pick up on over time is how to work on their own bike. Growing up, my older brother and I used to hit up garage sales and pick up bikes just to fix them up. I learned a lot about how a bike works just by simply taking things apart and figuring out how to put it all back together. Back then, things were a little more complicated and 9 times out of 10 I found myself regretting pulling a set of cranks or a headset out when I was stuck chasing ball bearings around on the floor (I can only imagine how many of you older guys just started laughing). Now days, BMX bikes have become easier to work on with pretty standard sizes and sealed bearings. Along with that, tools have been developed to simplify the task even more. One of those tools would be the Multi-Tool from The Shadow Conspiracy. Whether you’re just a beginner learning how to avoid stripping out all your bolts or a mechanic that’s turned plenty of wrenches at a shop, this is one tool that will make your life a little easier. Let’s take a closer look!
Subrosa in Atlanta
Finally! The video I’ve been waiting to drop all week! A few weeks back the Subrosa crew loaded up and headed to Atlanta to check out the spots and get loose. This video gives you a look at all of the incredible riding that went down and the good times they had! This is an absolute MUST SEE! Hit that play button and enjoy!
“Hot off the tail of our full-length video Get Used To It being released a good portion of the Subrosa met up in Atlanta for a week of good times and good spots! Lahsaan Kobza, Joris Coulomb, Simone Barraco, Mark Mulville, Scott Ditchburn, Nick Bullen, Hoang Tran and Kyle Hart came to Atlanta ready to rumble and this edit is proof! 13 minutes of the Subrosa doing what they do best.
Between meeting up and coming rappers, dodging the police, catalog photoshoots, dodging the rain, filming a park edit, searching for T-Pain, and daily sessions down by the pool the team flat out put in work.
A huge thanks to Bobby Kanode for coming along and putting together this amazing edit.
Thanks to all the bands for the music, check out Dirty Art Club, Bongripper, Ryan Hemsworth, Champ, and Solipsis.
The biggest thanks to Lahsaan Kobza, Joris Coulomb, Simone Barraco, Mark Mulville, Scott Ditchburn, Nick Bullen, and Kyle Hart for killing it and having the best time, Hoang Tran for coming along even though he was hurt, and the rest of the Subrosa team that couldn’t join us in Atlanta. ” – Subrosa
““If I could re-live any week of my life, this would be it. All of our faces hurt the entire time from laughing too much at Kyle Hart’s antics and smiling too much after great clips. These guys had me cheesin’ the entire time, and it was an absolute treat to witness the feed-off-each-other vibe they hold down so well. This was the most productive trip I’ve ever been on; I never thought a 32-clip day would happen, but the team proved me wrong. Sit back and enjoy the next 13 minutes of your life as you witness Simone Barraco, Nick Bullen, Joris Coulomb, Scott Ditchburn, Kyle Hart, Lahsaan Kobza, and Mark Mulville all puttin’ down the hot moves in Hotlanta. Hoang was along for the ride, but was still recovering from an injury so he took it easy. Thanks for the great times guys!” -Bobby Kanode

Updated Layout for The Union
Over the past few weeks I’ve been compiling a list of things we wanted to change with the site to make it run more efficiently and make it for you guys to get around the site to see all the latest and greatest. Thanks to Hamilton Boyce we were able to take those ideas and suggestions and do a little face lift to The Union. Tonight we released the new version of the site which for the most part doesn’t look much different than it did before, but there’s actually a lot of changes.
First off, when you came to the site there’s a good chance you noticed the new front page. We were a big fan of the slider on Can You Dig It so we utilized that so now you can see the five latest Original features we produce. Below is is our new MUST SEE section. For those of you who check the Daily Section on the regular, you know how fast videos can be pushed off to page two or three by the end of the day. Now you can find the best of the best videos mixed with our original features and the content the supporters of The Union are producing as well. That way you aren’t missing the important things if you step away from your computer for a day or two.
You can still find the original interviews, bike checks, photogalleries, Insights and more in the Features section and you can find all of the latest BMX videos, news, products and more over in the Daily Section like you could before as well! One thing you will notice different about those sections is that we’ve added some page numbers to the top of the page. That way it’s easier for you to get to the slightly older content you might have missed or want to check out again.
Next up, we’ve gone through and revamped our photogalleries to make them load faster and allow you to page through each of the photos much easier! Check out this Photogallery by Matt Bosco we dropped the other day to see how it works. There’s page numbers up top and below each photo along with arrows on the sides so you can page forward or backward as well!
Finally, we figured with the majority of videos being in HD these days, we needed to make it so our video player utilized that. All of our Original videos will now be available in wide screen by simply clicking into the posts from the front page or the Features or Videos sections. Take a look at what we mean by checking out this video featuring Paul Barnum from a little while back! Looks good, doesn’t it?
Other than that, we’ve just cleaned up the back end and made some tweaks to make the whole site load a little faster and have less errors or issues. We’re really stoked on how things came out, but we also know there might be some tweaks that still need to be made, so if you come across anything, feel free to let us know in the comments or just shoot Kurt an email!
We hope you’re as stoked on the changes as we are! Shout out to everyone who checks out the site on the regular! We couldn’t do it without your support!
