Odyssey BMX – EVO 2.5 Brakes & Kit
Odyssey have released an updated version of their popular EVO 2 brakes!
Sure, brakes aren’t as common as they used to be on BMX bikes, but there’s still a good number of riders that rock brakes! The crew at Odyssey have just released an updated version of their ever popular EVO 2 brakes, with arms that have a wider radius to fit the larger 2.40″ tires. They’ve also created a kit with the EVO 2.5 brakes, their Monolever brake lever and the Linear Slic-Kable brake cable. Get full details below…
“The Evo 2.5 is a remixed version of the industry leading Evo 2 brake you know and love, with a lot more room for larger, modern tire sizes. Just like the classic Evo 2, it is built around modular hardware features and affordable value. Install it as a rear brake or front brake straight out of the box.
Comes with Odyssey’s convenient double lugged straddle cable, custom curved cable hanger and an array of hardware for adapting the brake to every possible set-up. Forged from aluminum for strength, and to avoid unnecessary upcharges from frivolous CNC machining.
Features
– More clearance for larger tires
– Flat-tipped cable set screws prevents excess damage to the cable’s inner wire
– Sleek aluminum front cable adapter
– Flush surfaces, with the lowest possible overall stack height
– Front or rear wheel use
– Slim by Four pads
– Two sets of springs for hard and soft tension/modulation
– Spring tension indicators for easy set up
– Newly designed straddle hanger
– Pre-lugged straddle cable
– Cable lugs are smaller and use a 10 mm hex head”
The EVO 2.5 Brakes are available for $46.99 and the whole kit is available for $66.99 through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Odyssey BMX worldwide now!
Odyssey x QBP at The Wheel Mill and Ray’s MTB
The Odyssey team made their way to The Wheel Mill in Pittsburgh and Ray’s MTB in Cleveland.
Here’s a rad video Odyssey put together from a trip they did with QBP to get some riding time in at The Wheel Mill and Ray’s MTB. This video is packed full of clips that the guys got in during their time riding. Needless to say, it’s all good and this is one video you won’t want to pass up! Check it!
“With the help of our favorite US distributor QBP, we took Odyssey’s top ramp riders – Tom Dugan, Gary Young, Justin Spriet, Broc Raiford, and Preston Okert – to two of the best indoor parks in the country, the Wheel Mill and Ray’s. Naturally, with these guys ripping those parks, we came back with a killer video. Enjoy!”
Odyssey BMX – Summit Stem
Looking to really raise your bars up? Check out the new Summit Stem from Odyssey!
The crew at Odyssey have just released their new Summit stem that’s bound to get some talk going since it pushes things up a notch or two higher than other BMX stems available. The Summit stem is made from CNC machined 6061-T6 aluminum with a 48mm reach and a whopping 45mm of rise (other top load stems have a range of 27mm – 35mm rise usually) with a new proprietary clamping surface, 6 chromoly bolts to hold it tight, beveled edges, a recessed top for a flush fork cap and additional machining in low stress points for additional weight savings.
The Odyssey Summit stem comes in Black only, weighs in at 10.4 oz. and can be picked up through BMX shops and mail-orders, or direct from the Odyssey webstore for $64.99 now.
Recessed top for a flush compression cap and an engraved ODSY SMMT logo.

With a 45mm rise, this stem has a different look than other topload BMX stems.
ODSY SMMT.
Here’s a few words direct from Odyssey about their newest stem…
“The Odyssey Summit stem is now the tallest stem offered.
Coming in with a 45mm rise, it is far above the rest. Using a proprietary clamping surface specification and clamping bolts with a larger surface area under the head, your bars will be sure to stay in place.” – Odyssey
Alright, you know the details, you have seen the photos… What do you think? We have a feeling this is one of those designs that will get a very wide ranging opinion from love it to hate it, so we want to hear from you. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below!

Odyssey BMX – Traveler Bag
If you’re looking for an easy way to travel with your bike without tipping off TSA, the new Odyssey Traveler Bag might just be for you!
Anyone who has traveled with their bike knows the stress of showing up at the airport, not knowing if you’re about to get hit with some incredibly ridiculous fee for bringing a bike on the flight. Over the years, BMX has wised up and introduced a few different Bike Bags disguised as Golf Club Bags, which ironically don’t get an extra fee. Since airlines are always looking to make an extra buck, they’ve been making the size of bags smaller, so it’s been getting a little trickier to get through the TSA. Fortunately, Odyssey have a new bag that’ll help. Here’s a look at the new Odyssey Traveler Bag that fits your bike into the smallest size bag possible. Similar to their Nest Bag that’s built to look like a golf bag, but fit a bike perfectly with room for some extras, this bag does a similar job. This airline friendly bag is designed to be sturdy with reinforced and riveted handles, heavy duty and grippy wheels for rolling, and minimal details and weight to keep it flying under the radar (pun intended). Inside you can find an easy load opening, interior tool pouch, multiple tie downs and straps to keep everything in place and an interior divider for clean and dirty sections and a little help hiding your bike.
This bag was inspired by Gary Young who has been traveling all around the world for years and flown hundreds of times with his bike, so you know Odyssey had some great insight when it came to the design of this bike bag.
The Odyssey Traveler Bag is available for $179.99 through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Odyssey BMX worldwide now, or direct from the Odyssey website. If you need a little more space or you’re on a tigheter budget, you can still pick up the Nest Bag as well.
