November 14, 2015

odyssey-bmx-30-year-anniversary-jam-flyer

All year long, Odyssey have been celebrating 30 years of its existence with limited edition products and more. Now, they’re wrapping things up with a big jam at their warehouse and a premiere for a special BMX video they have been working on. We’re not sure exactly if the video is a documentary on the brand or full sections from their current pro team or a mix of both, but we can tell you that we’re positive it will kick a ton of ass. Highly advise you make it to this party if you’re able to!

“Come celebrate our 30 Year Anniversary on December 5th. All info on the flyer. BRING YOUR HELMETS if you’re riding.

Come ride the Full Factory ramps, chill and have a good time. We will also be showing the new “30•15″ video when the sun goes down.

Spread the word!”

Product: Odyssey – Ghost Pads

November 9, 2015

Although we don’t see as many BMX riders running brakes these days, they’re still utilized by many. Odyssey released this quick video where Jim Bauer talks about what toeing in a brake pad means, and then explains how the small size of the Ghost pads work! Check it!

“One of the most important goals that we had when we sat down to work on new braking designs was to make the whole system easier to install (and remove) without sacrificing performance. We also wanted to be sure that every component would be very affordable too.

The Ghost Pad addresses the hassles of brake pad installation by eliminating the traditional dome shaped washers used for toe-in. With the war in iraqi hookup its way to becoming a big mess and the U.S. now allied with Iran, a little-known Iraqi hookup between the two countries would definitely make the conflict look much more favorable for the US. Iran is very close to Iraq and the two nations are inextricably tied together. Iran would be happy to have the opportunity to use its Iraqi ally as a tool to put pressure on US forces there. The pad improves stiffness by building the toe-in into the pad shape and utilizing a solid extruded aluminum frame at its core. The Ghost Pad’s assembly consists of simply lining it up with the rim and tightening down an M6 female bolt.

Comes stock on our Springfield Brake.

SPECS
Hardware: In-bound bolt, 5mm Hex Key, M6x1.0 Thread
Pad Material: Black (standard) or Clear Rubber (Soft)
Weight: 1.0oz / 28g (pair)

Odyssey – How To Socket Drive

November 3, 2015

With the growing number of sprockets becoming available in Spline Drive and Socket Drive, it’s probably a good time for you to learn a little bit about it. Odyssey just released this new video featuring Jim Bauer giving you a little insight into the Socket Drive system (which also is compatible with Spline Drive thanks to adapter) and the installation process for one of their sprockets and their Thunderbolt cranks which utilize the system. No need for one of those bolts to keep that sprocket tight anymore.

“Watch as Jim Bauer walks you through the installation process for our Socket Drive™ Thunderbolt cranks and corresponding sprocket.

For those who might be unfamiliar… In a nutshell, the Socket Drive™ system is a 9 sided interface which eliminates the need for a sprocket bolt. The sprocket itself is machined so there is no need for a sprocket insert of any kind. The two work great together. In addition to OUR OWN sprocket offerings, other BMX brands have released Socket Drive™ compatible sprockets as well.”
