I think the first time I came across Ryan Scott was on Twitter. I don’t remember why or how, but yeah. Over the course of time, we ended up going back and forth quite a bit. The other day, Ryan sent through some of his latest work for us to check out to do a possible photogallery. I already knew Ryan shot damn good photos and I decided it would be best if we could get an interview out of him to go with the photogallery so you can really get a feel of who is behind the lens on this one. I met Vincent Perraud for the first time at Mark Potoczny’s trails in the middle of no where Pennsylvania at the last Welcome Jam. I had seen some of his work prior to meeting him, so I was really stoked to cross paths with him and talk for a while. That was about two years ago now. Since then, Vincent’s photos have progressed and continue to get better and better. His name has appeared pretty regularly in all the bigger magazines and through covers, features and print ads. There’s also been a ton of photos that end up being used online as well. The other week, I saw one of the best cover photos ever that Vincent shot. I started thinking it had been too long since we caught up. We decided it would be a good time to drop an interview with him along with a fresh photogallery that is a must see! Looking back over the years, it’s kind of crazy how things happen. I was probably around 14 or 15 the first time I met Sandy Carson. It was at an Etnies Demo if I remember right. After that I some how ended up emailing him and to my surprise he responded and was always really friendly to this random kid for reasons I never understood. Over the years, I’ve stayed in touch with Sandy for different things and it’s always awesome catching up with him since he’s always getting into something completely different and unique whether it’s bikes, photos or music. It had been a little while since I hit him up and figured with the release of his revamped portfolio website, SandyCarson.com, a little while back that it would be a good time to see if he would be up for answering a few questions and sending through some photos for you to check out. Chris Saunders is one of those names that, if you have kept up with the BMX game over the years, you probably have seen pop up a few times from the east coast scene between his riding, photos or videos. Chris is one of those riders turned photographer and film maker with the help of BMX to get things really rolling for himself. I recently came across his portfolio and really liked what I saw. Tristan Afre

I’ll be honest and say that I don’t exactly recall the first time I saw the name “Tristan Afre” or “Gutstains”. I know it was a few years back and it was either between a photo of his or on The Come Up Board long before I got banned, haha. Then in the last year or two I started seeing his work popping up all over the place, especially from a lot of the Shadow Conspiracy trips. That’s the best part about BMX, when somebody starts firing out good work they are given the opportunities to keep rolling and progressing. That’s been the case for Tristan. The road even recently lead him to his own section on TCU called Gutstains that has been loaded with goodness. I figured I had been silently watching his work long enough and that it was time to get to know him a little better. Over the last few weeks, I’ve been seeing Aaron Zwaal’s name pop up here and there for some videos and other things. One day he shot me an email with a link to one of his videos and I spotted a link to his Flickr page. Needless to say, I was impressed with his work. I shot him back a message to see if he would be down to be the next guy in our Photos: interview series (that has been on the back burner for a little while).
