Red Bull – Raditudes: Crashing Drones and Winning Contests

August 20, 2014

These Raditudes episodes from Red Bull have been awesome. This time around we get a little look into Hucker’s newest hobby that he likes to push to the limits and then hop over to the U.K for the Goodwood Festival with Anthony Napolitan! Enjoy!

“Hucker and Anthony hit up some Southern California trails and enjoy the spoils of SoCal weather. Then, Hucker puts his exceptional quadcopter (drone) piloting skills to action, and nearly beheads videographer Ryan Navazio.

Later on, Anthony heads to England for the Goodwood Festival of Speed as he rides with Sebastian Keep, Chris Doyle, Kye Forte, and Matt Priest as he takes home the win for best trick and delivers the coveted Red Bull Helmet to MTB rider Mike Jones.”

Red Bull – Tyler Fernengel: Detroit to San Diego – Part 1

August 18, 2014

A few weeks back, Tyler Fernengel made the cross country move from Detroit to San Diego with the help of Christian Rigal. They documented the whole trip from pre-move all the way through to his new home that will be appearing in this new series from Red Bull. Check out part one above where we get a little look into life where he grew up!

“Tyler Fernengel may have grown up in a small town in Michigan, but in recent years, his name has become known in BMX circles all over the world. With a combination of style and fearlessness and the ability to stomp some of the hardest tricks in the game on a consistent basis, he’s risen steadily into the pro ranks of BMX riding.

He turned 18 earlier this year and made the decision to leave his family, friends and formative riding spots in order to make the cross-country move to San Diego, California. With his sponsors and much of the BMX media in Southern California — not to mention the draw of year-round riding weather — the move was a bit of a no-brainer, but that didn’t mean it was going to be easy.

Tyler is close to his family and loyal to his Michigan roots, but his family and friends know that California is the place he needs to be, at least for now. We followed Tyler on his coming-of-age roadtrip, and you can see how it all went down in our three-part video series.

Watch part one above as he shows us around his hometown and takes his final sessions as a Wyandotte, Michigan, resident. Stay tuned for part two on Wednesday, August 20.”

Red Bull Dreamline 2014 – Rider List

July 17, 2014

Matty Aquizap - Action

This years Red Bull Dreamline contest is going down October 10th and 11th just outside of Ashville, North Carolina! As you can imagine, this will be one hell of an event and it looks like a ton of people have signed up so far! Check out who will be there this time around below!

“THE BEST OF BMX DIRT HEADS EAST TO ASHEVILLE, NC

By the Riders, for the Riders Contest Returns

June 25, 2014 – (Asheville, NC) – Red Bull Dreamline is back for its third year this fall just south of Asheville, NC, at the Oskar Blues REEB Ranch, with a bigger course, bold athlete list and some of the most challenging jumps seen in BMX history. On October 10-11, 2014, the rolling hills of the Blue Ridge Parkway will be converted into a dream downhill BMX dirt course, with bigger jumps than last year from top to bottom.

Conceived by pro athlete Anthony Napolitan, Red Bull Dreamline is a way to showcase the best of dirt riding, by the riders, for the riders. Given six weeks and the freedom to develop concept into course, builder Adam Aloise promises to groom a next level dirt playground. While some elements will be under wraps until riders arrive on site, the course guarantees to be the most challenging to date, including 10 jumps, with the largest sending athletes up to 35 feet in the air.

The jam session format of the contest has been developed to benefit the riders. The contest has invited 28 riders, who will be joined by four alternates selected during the practice sessions. The 32 riders will compete in two heats of 16 in the qualifiers. When the athletes are not competing in a heat, they will be judging their fellow riders. The top six from each heat will move on to Saturday’s final and will be judged by a randomly drawn group of non-qualifying riders from Friday.

“Red Bull Dreamline is an event that BMX riders can show up to, ride, have a great time, progress, and feel completely comfortable without the pressures of a normal contest setting. We’re excited to head east where dirt BMX was born,” says creator Anthony Napolitan. The contest shines a light on what BMXers enjoy most about riding – the freedom of pushing the limits with their friends, on a course that has no rules or constraints.
