Sean Morr Pro Part Video

February 6, 2016

These Pro Part BMX videos that Ride BMX have been producing have been real solid. Today we get a look at Sean Morr‘s section that is grind after grind of rail destruction on spots out in California. Take a look!

“Sean Morr rides with power and speed, and for his Pro Part he pretty much stuck to rails… something that’s a little less-often seen these days. Don’t get me wrong, Sean gets into some technical set-ups, but they’re usually accompanied by a larger spot situation. Sean Morr hasn’t put out a full section in a little, so we’re stoked to be premiering this for your guys’ viewing pleasure… Cooked up late last year.

Dave Mirra Tribute Video

February 5, 2016

Ride BMX released their intro video for Dave Mirra when he was a presenter for NORA Cup this past summer. This 48 seconds covers A LOT of ground from Dave’s early beginnings on up through all the success he saw on and off his bike. There’s no denying that he was much, much more of an influence that just being really talented on a bike.

“Dave Mirra has suddenly been taken from us, who could’ve ever seen this coming? Words can’t describe my inner feelings right now, but it seems eerie, and yet ultimately comforting knowing that I had the opportunity to meet Dave at this past year’s NORA Cup awards ceremony. Dave was set as our presenter for the ramp category that night (he’d award Dennis Enarson later that night with Ramp Rider of the Year), and while Dave was timid on stage, he was clearly intrigued by the riding footage being projected on the giant screen. The nominee reels are always a mash of the very best riding that year from people like Dennis Enarson and Kriss Kyle, and I think Dave might’ve really had the chance to see the mark he left, and where the torch has now been carried… That moment is something I’ll never forget. Dave Mirra is a legend, an icon, and a true inspiration who shaped our world and left his mark, but you all know that. Here’s a look back on the reel we ran that night before he took the stage as the presenter for Ramp Rider of the Year. RIP Dave.” – Ride BMX

Urban Noise – Tokyo

February 5, 2016

Ride BMX dropped this STACKED video from the sessions that the crew who were invited to the Real Toughness contest in Tokyo this past summer had during their down time. When you can take a crew like this to a city like Tokyo, you’re bound to see something incredible. Needless to say, this is a BMX video we don’t suggest you pass up!

“With Devon Smillie, Tyler Fernengel, Bruno Hoffmann, Ollie Shields, Fernando Laczko, and Alex Donnachie in Tokyo, Japan, for the G-Shock Real Toughness contest a few months back, it would’ve been foolish to squander the opportunity to ride street in one of biggest cites in the world with such an epic crew. So we arranged some local contacts, found a cheap hotel, and stuck around for a few extra days after the contest. Tokyo is so vast, insanely crowded, and security is on it, so riding street is not easy. Fortunately, as far as riding and filming were concerned, there were no sponsor obligations or clip counts to stress—and the sessions that ensued reflected that. The locals fed us a steady diet of predominantly ledge spots—and that was fine with us. The next couple days were super chill, consisting of fun spots, strange food, and more than a few street beers. The only sore spot on the trip was when Alex rolled his ankle on the first day at the first spot. After he did one of the cleanest and lofty uprail-to-hard 360s any of us had ever seen, we knew he was warming up for the hard 540, but he took his ankle out on the next try. Alex had to sit on the sideline for the rest of the trip, but he managed to hobble out every day and kick it with the crew, help film, and consume plenty of Kit Kats and other assorted candies. Meanwhile, local 13-year old Japanese prodigy, Rim Nakamura, subbed-in for a few of the sessions and totally killed it. Which was awesome to see—literally, a kid, just roll right into the session with some of the most bad-ass pros and just start shredding. Thanks to G-Shock, Hiroshi Uehara, Ken Jungnickel, Rim Nakamura, and all the other locals we met along the way.” – Ride BMX

Animal Bikes – Chris Silva Nub Nuts Promo

February 1, 2016

Here’s a promo BMX video featuring Chris Silva putting his signature Nub Nuts from Animal Bikes to proper use! Chris has been running these for a little while now, but it looks like they’re finally available through BMX shops and mail-orders worldwide. These little nub nuts replace your axle nut or bolt for female hubs with a longer, round nut or bolt that gives you a little something to grind on. This is a great option for those of you who want a little extra challenge when it comes to grinding or just don’t want to run pegs, but still want to grind. Check it out!

“I don’t believe I’m over-stretching when I say that no one else in BMX that has pegless grinds on lock like Chris Silva. Most the credit surely goes to Chris and his borderline obsessive attention to detail, but his signature “Nub Nuts” from Animal surely get some credit, as well. No need for a 17mm, either. Just use a ratchet and you’re good to fire out pegless backwards rails, hangers, and pegs to hard 180’s.

“Chris Silva’s signature “Nub Nuts” are made from Heat Treated Chromoly. They are available in 14mm female and 10mm male (10x1mm TPI)”” – Ride BMX
