Mongoose Jam 2014 – B3 Art Plaza Session
Just when you thought you saw everything the Mongoose Jam at Woodward East had to offer the other week… More dialed footage surfaces! check out what went down during a session some of the guys got in when they weren’t at the contest.
“Corey Martinez, Ben Lewis, Pete Sawyer, Mike Gray, Brian Kachinsky, and many more session the “B3 Art Plaza” at Woodward East during some off-time at the 2014 Mongoose Jam.” – Ride BMX
Dew Tour Portland 2014 – Streetstyle Practice
The Streetstyle contest at the Portland stop of the Dew Tour is going down today (which you can watch live later today) in Portland. Yesterday the likes of Dennis Enarson, Chad Kerley, Garrett Reynolds, Van Homan, Tyler Fernengel, Stevie Churchill, Gary Young, Broc Raiford and a few others got a little practice on the course. Take a peek and see a teaser of what’s going down today!
“It’s virtually impossible to film the entire course with anything other than chasing everyone down the course with a fisheye in hand, so that’s just what I did. Again and again and again until I basically burned through my shoes and nearly ran into everyone on course. But it was damn fun and I think it shows how fast and gnarly the course is and how nuts this event (Sunday from noon to 2pm PST) will really be. I’m seriously looking forward to it. My apologies for a couple of shakes and even that “oh shit” during Shitty’s run…he said he was going to nose manual that ledge, not turndown the hip, haha. Enjoy!” – Ride BMX
Portland Dew Tour 2014 – Dirt Practice Video
Check out some highlights that Ride BMX dropped from the dirt practice at the Portland Dew Tour stop that’s going down this weekend! Looks to be a pretty laid back event versus some of the past contests, but good riding none the less!
“Keeping it simple with this one because the vibe itself was pretty chill. Everyone was basically just cruising because the last jump was so wet. But, this being a “Dirt Session” and not a traditional dirt event: two dirt jumps and a quarter, ten riders, and a thirty minute jam session. According to the Dew Tour site, “Riders must complete three runs to be eligible for a top–five placing.” So, it’ll be a mix of people laying down three runs and then it’ll probably get wild… ”
Drew Bezanson’s Street Style
Drew Bezanson has been on absolute FIRE lately. Check out this new one of him putting in some time on street spots out in California in preparation for the Dew Tour Street Style contests coming to Portland and Brooklyn these next few weeks. So good!
“You can ride street all your life, but once someone like Drew Bezanson puts out a couple of amazing park edits and win more than a few contests, the average rider no longer considers the fact he can ride street. But the fact is that Drew rides everything and his style fits in just perfectly with the Dew Tour Street Style event hitting Portland this weekend. I went ahead and caught up with Drew for a day and we cruised some spots in San Diego and he absolutely destroyed it. Check the video and be sure to catch the live webcast of the Street Style event on http://dewtour.com this Sunday, August 17th, at noon PST.” – Ride BMX
Mongoose Jam 2014 – Dirt Practice
Here’s a look at the highlights from dirt practice that went down the other day for the Mongoose Jam that wrapped up today out at Woodward East! Expect more highlights here soon, but until then enjoy this one!
“Kevin Peraza, Drew Bezanson, Clint Reynolds, Dan Foley, TJ Ellis, and more run through the dirt section at Woodward in prep for the upcoming Dirt portion of the Mongoose Jam. As you can tell, it’s a mix of messing around and a few wild tricks. As it should be.” – Ride BMX
Mongoose Jam 2014 – Park Finals Highlights
The Mongoose Jam is going down at Woodward East this week and things have already started off with a bang! Check out the highlights from the Park Finals that Ride BMX just dropped!
“Camp Woodward’s Lot 8 saw riders ripping through it again on Wednesday for the 2014 Mongoose Jam Park Competition. The first Mongoose Jam event featured 27 riders, including 22 of the world’s best pros and all five amateur Woodward campers selected from Tuesday’sLucky Camper Competition.
Each rider was given 40 seconds and three runs to throw down, with the best session counting as their final score. Riders were scored by a panel of three judges who focused on the number and difficulty of tricks, along with the guys’ unique ride style. The Park Competition wasn’t always about the trick, but the line the rider took to land it.
The Woodward campers brought it to the Park Competition proving that they can hang with the pros. Team McCann’s Freddie Smith showed off some unique and off-axis backflip bar spins while Team Wallace’s Jack Mould landed a back flip tail whip into a bar spin. Team Ryan’s Shane Goldsmid hit a cork 720, and a barrel roll during his runs.
Monster highlights from the pros included Kyle Baldock’s 1080, though, his third attempt, and Daniel Sandoval’s 360 downside tail whip to double bar spin. At the end of the Park session, it was Mongoose team captain Kevin Peraza that came away with the win – during his run he landed a huge stalled out front flip, decade air on the quarter, a superman seatgrab on the step-up and much more.
Next up, the Street Competition, which will take place on Thursday. Mongoose Jam ends Fridaywith the Dirt Competition, where it will be decided which team takes home the largest portion of the $50,000 prize purse. Get live updates at http://www.mongoose.com/usa/jam/.

“Insight” – Ratkid, Kocsis, Belcher & White
Now this is what I’m talking about! Ride BMX dropped the mix section featuring Mark “Ratkid” Gralla, Jeff Kocsis, Dave Belcher and Tom White from the “Insight” DVD and it’s a good reminder of just how good this video really was. The riding in this is absolutely phenomenal and I think was one of the best sections in the entire video. Tom White is a madman too… Hit play!
“The rather epic Mark Gralla, Jeff Kocsis, Dave Belcher, and Tom White split section from our 2008 video, Insight…
—
“Since Insight was kind of a follow up to left right, a bunch of my friends who filmed for that video were excited to film for my next video project. This 4 way split section basically came about because the momentum from filming for left right carried over. Tom, Belcher and Gralla were living together at the time, so they were filming as a group. Jeff was coming on a lot of filming missions with us as well. This ended up being one of my favorite sections in the video because it came about naturally. Tom was also shooting a Ride interview at the time so this footage is some of his best.”” – Ride BMX
