Fathead Vs The Public

January 29, 2014

Ride UK has a new series called “Fathead Vs”. In the inaugural edition, Fathead is asking the public about their thoughts on BMX in the streets. There are some serious answers, buzzed bums going on about whatever, and the interaction with the kid from Brazil was priceless.

Can You 3D Print a BMX with George French

January 22, 2014

3D-print_BMX_pedal_600x

There’s a good chance by now you have heard of 3D printing. If you’re like me, you probably are pretty confused as to what it is and how it all works. It turns out that G-Sport‘s George French has built himself his own 3D printer and has been using it to create prototype samples of parts he is working on to see what it looks like in comparison to just a CAD drawing on a computer. This sounds like it could very well be the future of BMX product development, so head over to Ride UK for an interview with George where he explains what 3D printing is and how it can be applied to BMX.

Wethepeople – “London Calling” Leftovers

January 21, 2014

Check out a ton of leftover footage that Wethepeople was sitting on from their London Calling Video that was released the other day! These might be “leftovers” but damn they are good! Hit play!

“Hadrien Picard sent over this really cool Wethepeople leftovers edit from London Calling. Behind the scenes footage, unused clips, locals with radial laced spokes and more. It appears Mike Curley has more tricks up his sleeve then we give him credit for!” – Ride UK

Urban Playgrounds

January 17, 2014

Is it just me or does London have some amazing playgrounds to ride!? Check out Issac Lesser, Dan Boiski, Danny Stanzl, Joe Embrey and Lew Anderson all putting some of these wild playgrounds to good use in this new video from Ride UK!

“Every now and then a web edit will pop up with the odd clip of someone riding in a playground, with good reason. There are so many spots where a slide has been built on top of a banked area, where springy animal-shaped seats are placed onto nicely transitioned mounds or where zip line platforms create driveways and hips. And then there are the random landscaped areas surrounding the playground obstacles, those redundant bumps and banks that are seemingly pointless to most kids but lots of fun for us – the big kids on BMX bikes.

I decided to search out some of the best transitioned playgrounds around London then invite a few chosen riders to interpret them. Some weren’t as good as I thought, some were a bust, some stayed wet and dewy or even mossy for months, some had other issues, but many of them worked out quite well. When we got a session going it felt good – after all, we were simply having fun in a playground.” _ Ride UK
