Effraim had warned me that Sam Foakes was about to drop a banger of an edit the other day, and then I spotted this over on Flat Matters and saw just what he was talking about. Sam came through with some incredible riding for this one, so hit play now!
“This film is part 3 of a project documenting the riding of Sam Foakes since his relocation to The North of England.
Sam and I have discussed for some time the creation of a feature length solo film using UK music artists to provide the backdrop to his riding. However, due to the nature of modern internet film viewing and finding the time between work and our private lives, we felt that a 40 minute plus feature may be a little too time consuming for some to watch and it may have taken too long for us to complete the project.
Instead, we have decided to release a number of ‘EP’s’ named ‘Unofficial Collaborations’ that will pair Sam’s riding alongside some of the best, and lesser known, UK music artists.
For me, this project is an opportunity to improve my filming and editing skills and to gain a better understand of my camera. As a hobbyist filmmaker, I am extremely lucky to have the opportunity to film a rider of Sam’s calibre.
The footage is filmed between 7.30am and 12pm on Sunday mornings which seems to be the only time we can find the time and the space to ride and film.” – Chris Massey
