Vans Kill The Line 2012 – Confirmed Riders

Welp, it looks like this years Vans Kill The Line contest will be even more stacked than last year. Check out the confirmed riders so far below!

“VANS Kill the Line 2012 Confirmed Riders – Wizards, Kiwis and Legends dishing the dirt in the French pine woods

Take Europe‘s most renowned trails, a picturesque landscape, a chill atmosphere and add the world‘s best dirt BMXers and the result is clear: The 2012 edition of VANS Kill the Line will be like a moving encyclopaedia of BMX trail riding. Besides all the European bangers, some of the best international riders will send it on the 1st & 2nd of September 2012, in Peynier, Southern France – Corey Bohan, Chris Doyle, Kye Forte, Mike „Hucker“ Clark, Anthony Napolitan, Paul Langlands and last years winner TJ Ellis being only some of the names to mention (see more below). A crew of judges from France, Canada, UK and Austria will decide who has what it takes to potentially dethrone TJ and take home some of the 7000 Euros prize money.
The international BMX pro contest organised by French dirt legend Alex Dropsy and his team at their local spot, is back for the 4th consecutive year. Massive new jumps and the rebuilt line through the legendary Peynier Trails are guaranteed thanks to master builder Bérenger „Guilb“ Cordier – who placed 3rd in 2011. Located close to the city of Aix en Provence in an amazingly beautiful Mediterranean sourrounding, this year’s event will take place over two days with qualifications and Best Trick presented by UNIT Clothing on Saturday, a BMX evolution exhibition on spot, the finals on Sunday afternoon and of course, the famous open-air party on Saturday night. Entrance for spectators is free.

Vans Announces LXVI Invitational

“Vans’ Inaugural LXVI BMX Invitational Hits the Beach at the East Coast Surfing Championships August 24th and 25th
Scotty Cranmer, Ryan Guettler, Ryan Nyquist and Cory Nastazio among the Big Names Heading to Virginia Beach
Cypress, CA (August 16, 2012) – The first LXVI BMX Invitational presented by Vans hits the beach on August 24th and 25th at the historic Virginia Beach Oceanfront alongside the Coastal Edge East Coast Surfing Championships presented by Vans. The LXVI BMX Invitational challenges twenty of the world’s best BMX riders including Scotty Cranmer, Ryan Guettler, Ryan Nyquist and Cory Nastazio as they compete in a triple box jump contest for their share of a $25,000 prize purse.

This summer’s LXVI BMX Invitational will be held in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the Coastal Edge East Coast Surfing Championships, the oldest surf contest in North America and the second longest continuously-run surf contest in the world. The Coastal Edge ECSC beach festival, held on August 20th – 26th, features skateboarding, BMX and motocross demos along with music and other beach activities throughout the weekend.

Expected Riders Include:
Scotty Cranmer (2012 X-Games Gold BMX Park, 2012 Dew Tour Champion BMX Park), Ryan Guettler (2005 Dew Tour Champion BMX Dirt and Park, X-Games medalist), Pat Casey, Gary Young, Kyle Baldock, Cory Nastazio (X-Games medalist), Ryan Nyquist (numerous X-Games medals and Dew Tour championships), Brett Banasiewicz, Dennis Enarson, Jeremiah Smith, and Brandon Dosch.

Expected Judges Include:
Robbie Morales (Cult), Keith Mulligan (Ride BMX), Ben Crockett (BMX Plus!), Dave Brumlow and Allan Cooke.

Contest Schedule – Best 2 out of 3 Runs
Thursday, Aug. 23rd 2PM – 4PM – Open Practice
Friday, Aug. 24th 12PM – 2PM – Qualifiers
Saturday, Aug. 25th 12PM – 1PM – Finals

Prizes:
1st place: $5,000
2nd place: $3,750
3rd place: $3,000
Runner ups will receive a portion of the $25,000 purse. ”

Vans – Kevin Kalkoff Presents By The Lake

Holy hell it looks like Kevin Kalkoff knows how to throw a party to me! Check out this video from the jam that him and Vans threw the other weekend! Huge turn out and tons of wild riding. Wish I was there!

“2 weeks ago, Vans Bmx pro rider Emea Kevin KALKOFF decided to organise his first invitational event on his own riding spot in his famous city Annecy, welcome By The Lake, bowl and street invitational contest. Before the contest all the riders invited decided to visit the famous lac of annecy with some boat and water games, pretty good before to start a long day contest between bowl, street and best tricks. At this time the weather in france is perfect, the area is clean and re painted by Arnaud (famous french artist working for Shadow Consipiracy) and the staff organisation is ready to start his first adventure. Ben Hennon wasn’t in Annecy for only swimming, he won the bowl contest with crazy bangers first try, Bruno Hoffmann who always like street contest won this one pretty easy. Monster offered drinks, barbecq and good vibes too. For sure that was an awesome weekend and for a forst edition we must reconise Kevin Kalkoff organise event like he ride, perfectly. See you next year for sure for this new major event in Europe.”

It looks like Chris Doyle is finally going to make it out to Peynier, France for this years Vans Kill The Line Contest. I have a feeling he will absolutely dominate that place and the whole contest in general will be awesome. So get stoked for that since it’s going down September 1st and 2nd.

Insight: Shadow Conspiracy X Vans – 10 Year Anniversary Collaboration

A few weeks back, news that The Shadow Conspiracy would be teaming up with Vans for their second collaboration project was announced. The Shadow Conspiracy are celebrating their 10 year anniversary and they figured it was a perfect time to do something special.
This time around the two brands worked together to produce two different models of shoes, a shirt and a trucker hat that is styled around the 10 year anniversary theme. Bringing together Vans style and quality with the image and style that The Shadow Conspiracy have created in their last 10 years.
With the release of the shoes exclusively on Dan’s Comp, I was fortunate enough to get a surprise package with samples of the new goods to take a closer look at. I put together a photogallery with some closer up photos to show you the details and quality of the Mid version, t-shirt and hat which I think will leave you really stoked on how things turned out.
