Weird & Revered – Justin Schwanke “Vagabond Squad” Section

July 1, 2020

Here’s one we’ve been looking forward to. Justin Schwanke‘s section from the Weird & Revered “Vagabond Squad” DVD is now online. Justin pulled double duty for this one as the filmer and editor, along with filming a full section packed with creative and unique riding from start to finish. Justin has a unique style that is very unpredictable, and will leave you guessing just what he’s going to do next. Needless to say, his section turned out super good from all the parks and parks he rode, to his backyard and garage ramps. Hit play because this one doesn’t disappoint!

““Vagabond Squad” is a full-length video from Canada’s Weird & Revered crew. Filmed from 2016 to 2019, the project is community rooted with a strong focus on the Edmonton BMX scene. Although a majority of the clips are from the crew’s home city, the footage spans 9 countries, 8 American states, and 4 Canadian provinces and territories.” – DIG

“Tyler has incredible bike control, a well-developed style, and is constantly learning new and difficult tricks. I’m not really into the idea of saying that someone is ‘the best,’ especially in BMX when everything is so variable and so subjective. However, I think many of the Edmonton locals would agree with me that Tyler Horness is probably the best rider in our city. This video part is just a small taste of Tyler’s skills on a bike.” – Justin Schwanke

Weird & Revered “Vagabond Squad” – Team Ontario Section

June 17, 2020

The Weird & Revered crew coming through with another awesome section from the “Vagabond Squad” DVD. This time around we get a mix section from the Team Ontario squad who went to work on street spots, parks and more. This has a real good mix of tricks, with plenty of fufanus mixed in there, and styles, making for a good watch. Take a look!

Next up in our release of sections from Vagabond Squad is a split part from Kyle Lafleur, Sean Tiffin, and Ted Bambrick.” – DIG

“Kyle, Sean, and Ted were all born in the Canadian province of Ontario, but have since called Alberta home. This split part provides a healthy mix of brake tricks, peg tricks, and high airs. While their riding styles may vary, their ages and roots hardly do.” – Justin Schwanke

Weird & Revered – Cary Lorenz “Vagabond Squad” Section

June 10, 2020

The Weird & Revered crew have released another section from their “Vagabond Squad” DVD online for your viewing pleasure! This time around we get Cary Lorenz‘s section that’s loaded with style from park and trails sessions. This one has a pretty laidback vibe, but it’s a real good watch! Take a peek!

Although a majority of the clips are from the crew’s home city, the footage spans 9 countries, 8 American states, and 4 Canadian provinces and territories.

Next up in our release of sections from Vagabond Squad is Cary Lorenz.” – DIG

“Cary is an old soul with a young body. If for some reason you were blind to his physical appearance, but were able to see his possessions, observe his mannerisms, and hear his conversations, you’d think he’s middle-aged. Cary likes structure and order; he lives in the kitchen and loves to bake bread; he routinely re-watches old Props videos and Seinfield episodes; he regularly attends ‘country night’ once a week at a local bar; he enjoys bike packing, fly fishing, and backcountry camping; he also occasionally—and passionately—rides BMX (atop a Terrible One Barcode I may add). Of all the people with sections in the DVD, Cary came out riding and filming the least. I should mention we lived together during this time too. You may not see Cary out riding on the regular, but when you do, you can expect his old soul to shine through. As the cliché goes, his riding will ‘age like a fine wine.’ We’re happy to finally have it documented for years to come.” – Justin Schwanke

June 3, 2020

The Weird & Revered squad coming through with another section from their “Vagabond Squad” DVD for your viewing pleasure. This time around we get a look at a mix from a few of the OG’s in Alberta and friends from all around. This has a super good mix of tricks and styles, making for a good watch from start to finish. Get a look at this!

Next up in our releases from Vagabond Squad are two mix sections: 1) Team Dad and 2) Friends.” – DIG

“Alberta’s BMX Dad scene is strong. We have plenty of 30-somethings and 40-somethings with the responsibilities of fatherhood still killing it atop two wheels. ‘Team Dad’ is a mix section comprised of Alberta’s best parental talent. Following this up is another mix part. Weird & Revered affiliates from Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and as far as Germany and Israel have captured clips for the ‘Friends’ section of the film.” – Justin Schwanke

This time around we get a look at what Duke Thomson-Kurz cooked up for his section! Duke brings a good mix of tricks with X-up rides, grinds, big tire rides and more! This has a unique vibe to it, making for a real good watch. Take a look!

“Rumour has it, Duke once lived in a cave in Tofino. It was here—through the process of self-actualization—that he decided to dedicate his life to feeble grinds and x-up rides. This DVD part serves as documentation for Duke’s spiritual and philosophical journey from caveman to street connoisseur.” – Justin Schwanke

Weird & Revered – Joe Weidman & Mark Stanway “Vagabond Squad”

May 20, 2020

Here’s another dialed section from the Weird & Revered “Vagabond Squad” DVD for your viewing pleasure. This time around we get a split section featuring Joe Weidman and Mark Stanway going to work on ramps and street spots with plenty of laughs mixed in for good measure. Both of these guys brings a good mix of tricks making for a real good watch!

Next up in our release of sections from Vagabond Squad is a split part from Joe Weidman and Mark Stanway. ” – DIG

“Joe and Mark both come from small cities outside of Edmonton. They’re also two of the most talented park riders in the crew. What really differentiates them though is their riding styles. This split part contrasts Joe’s supremely technical maneuvers with Mark’s full-throttle ‘just gonna send it’ stunts. A complementary match indeed, I’d say.” – Justin Schwanke

Weird & Revered – Logan Kirzinger “Vagabond Squad” Section

May 13, 2020

The Weird & Revered crew coming through with another section from their “Vagabond Squad” DVD for your viewing pleasure. This time around we get Logan Kirzinger‘s section that is loaded with real solid riding, along with plenty of laughs and some heavy hill bomb action. Take a look!

Although a majority of the clips are from the crew’s home city, the footage spans 9 countries, 8 American states, and 4 Canadian provinces and territories.

Next up in our release of sections from Vagabond Squad is Logan Kirzinger.” – DIG

“Logan is the ultimate wildcard in the Weird & Revered crew. It’s often difficult to tell if Logan is in control or fully freestyling it. His life is loose and his riding is even looser. Although this DVD part is short and sweet, I think it’s an accurate reflection of Logan’s riding and his personality. He brings an overwhelming amount of positive energy and fearless experimentation to the crew. That’s something we can never get enough of.” – Justin Schwanke
