Product: Reeb Cycles – Zak Early “ReeBMX” Frame – $800

December 24, 2015

zak-early-bmx-bike

When we posted up The Most Expensive Custom BMX Bike? post earlier today, we got quite a few people stirring about more expensive parts or ways to make a bike more expensive. Then, Jon over at Can You Dig It pointed out that Zak Earley has a signature frame through a company called Reeb Cycles that is priced at… wait for it… $800. We had to get a look at it, but unfortunately there wasn’t much for photos other than Zak’s personal bike. But, there were full specs and details.

The ReeBMX frame is made from Tru Temper OX Platinum tubing (the same stuff Standard Bykes uses) with a 75-degree head tube angle, 69-degree seat tube angle, 11.6″ bottom bracket height, 10″ standover height and a 13.6″ chain stay length. You can find an integrated head tube, gussets on the top and down tubes, a MID bottom bracket and welded seat stay brake mounts. It’s available in colors of white, silver, black, green, blue and red with a weight of less than 5 lbs. (doesn’t say an exact number).

We’re not quite sure if any have sold, but we can imagine those margins for a $800 frame are pretty healthy considering a Standard frame with the same tubing and features goes for around $400. The only frame that comes to mind that is / was more expensive was the Titanium Eastern Grim Reaper frame. You can check out the frame right here.

Windowless Van – Shooting From The Hip

December 10, 2015

We were just thinking last night that it’s been a while since we’ve seen a BMX video from Zak Earley and then poof… A brand new Windowless Van video pops up giving us a look at some dialed trails, skatepark and street footage of Zak, Adam Aloise, Joe Hulette and Anthony Maimone from a recent trip Zac took in the van. As always Zak comes through with some excellent riding, and the film work is real clean. Take a peek!

“Change is inevitable. Without change, there is no progress and without progress; no success. Shooting from the Hip was a concept produced over way too many cups of coffee and a few days time. There was no set plan, only constantly evolving skeletal framework and a few set locations. The timing, the execution and the outcome were all a direct product of the saying. React quickly, consider less and the rest will come naturally.”

The Wheel Mill – Game of B-I-K-E

July 22, 2015

The Wheel Mill recently threw a big game of B-I-K-E pairing up a few pro riders with some of the locals! Above is a video they put together giving us a look at some of the action that went down! Looks like they had a good time with this one!

“We hosted a Game of B.I.K.E. Tournament with a twist. Our expert finalists were matched up with a pro rider and had to battle it out against other teams. On top of that, riders got to choose any room they liked for their set. Van Homan, Ryan Wert, Zak Early, Jeremy Ball and Mike Potoczny were our guest pros. Cam Girvin and Van Homan took the game.

Windowless Van – Freighted

December 30, 2014

Zak Earley and the Windowless Van hit the road with Casey Smith, Colin Mackay and Eric Lee for an adventure along the east coast from Pennsylvania up to Maine! This video documents some of the cement parks, trails, motocross tracks and street spots they rode along the way! Take a peek!

“The never ending pursuit of doing what you please and what pleases you. A strike mission of sorts. A loosely planned yet finely executed journey along side Zak Earley up the east coast in the Windowless Van. This is a story we like to call “Freighted”. The goal was simple; pack the van full of everything fun and use it. Live 7-10 days on the road with no solid plan and do whatever seemed to make sense at the time and have as much fun as possible doing it. No rehearsals, no second takes….only ideas and outcomes. Crashing on couches, eating at gas stations, drinking coffee by the gallon. Toured and taken under the wing by many people along the way.
A massive thank you goes out to everyone who let us tag along, sleep on your couch, showed us to a local spot, secret zone, favorite dive or finest coffee spot.
This is Freighted, we hope you enjoy.

Windowless Van – No Diving

April 8, 2014

Check out Zak Earley and a few friends getting some time in at a few different abandoned pools they came across out in California!

“The result of a trip out west that Zak Earley took to escape one of the harshest winters New England had seen in years. He set out to find the hidden gems that California had to offer with the help of some close friends. Entirely filmed and edited by Brandon Means.“
