Tanner Easterla Bike Check

Tanner Easterla is a name that has been popping up more and more over the past few years and gaining a reputation from some of his gnarly web videos that have dropped in that time. Today, we are stoked to announce that Tanner was recently given a well deserved spot on the Radio Bikes team as their newest U.S rider! As you would imagine with a new sponsor like Radio, that means he is rolling around on a brand new bike! We were curious to see what he was riding, so we got ahold of him for a closer look at his fresh Radio Toren setup decked out with Radio and Eclat parts and then figured we would toss him some extra questions to see what he has been up to these days! Obviously it looks like you have a pretty much brand new bike. What’s the oldest part on your bike and does it have any sentimental value?
Yes, this bike is brand new! Its pretty amazing, havent had a new bike in years! Nope nothing old on this new beauty!

How often do you build up a new bike? Do you tend to swap stuff out fairly frequently or ride it until it’s dead?
I actually only replace parts on my bike when they break, haha. I definitely ride it until it’s dead!

Are you very picky about your setup? Certain top tube length, head tube angle, chain stay length or are you pretty flexible?
I would say the only things that I’m picky on are my stems, and how tall my bike is. I also like my chain tight, but other than those two things, I’m pretty flexible.

Does your setup change up much?
Not too long ago I switched to plastic pegs, and I will never go back to metal! Also, about a year ago, I went to four pegs. It has been awesome!

What would you say your favorite part of this bike is?
Thats kind of hard. I really like the whole bike! If I had to choose, it would be the Wraith bars!

Are you pretty good about maintaining your bike, or are you not so good with tools?
Haha, sooo I know just about everything… but wheels. They always get me!

So you just started getting hooked up with Radio Bikes, right? How did that opportunity all come about? I feel like you’re their first U.S rider?
Yes! Im brand new to Radio! It became official a couple of weeks ago! Radio found me through Almond Footwear. You are correct, I am Radio Bikes first U.S rider! I’m beyond stoked and thankful for this opportunity!

Do you guys have any trips or cool projects with you in the works?
We do have some really awesome projects and stuff coming up but nothing is set in stone. You’ll just have to wait and see!

How about Almond? Anything special planned there you can tell us about?
As of right now nothing is in the works, but hopefully soon!

By now a lot of people have caught wind of you from some of your heavy edits you have put out in the past. Have you been filming for any new projects lately? Anything we can expect to see soon?
Everything I have been filming for has been put towards my Radio Bikes Welcome edit dropping later this week!

You picked up your own camera recently, right? What did you get? How do you like it so far?
Yeah! I bought my camera off my good friend! I bought a Panasonic HMC140 and it is amazing. I love being able to film on my own when no one is available!

Have you been getting much time to travel lately? Where are some of the places you have had the chance to ride in the past you were psyched on?
I’ve been traveling as much as possible! My top two favorite places I have had the chance to ride have been Texas and Arizona.

Let’s say you could go on a trip with only 3 destinations anywhere in the world. Where would you go and why?
My first destination would be Barcelona, Spain. It looks magical! Haha. The spots look amazing!
Second would be Philly! I really want to travel to Philly because it seems like you can pedal around and find spot after spot!
My third spot I would travel to is Australia! I love the culture, the people, and the ecosystems! And of course the spots!

What have you been getting into outside of riding these days? Do you work, go to school or anything like that?
Yes, Im currently working full-time. I’m trying to get into school right now, maybe a trade. Still figuring it all out, Haha.

I heard you’re pretty into fishing. How long have you been doing that for? Is it just something you do for fun or do you take it pretty serious?
I love fishing! Been fishing since I was 5 years old! Fishing is something I do for fun, mainly when I’m hurt. I wish I could take fishing more serious, but I love my bike too much! Haha.

What’s the last song you heard, movie you watched and website you visited?
The last song I listened to was Pink Floyd – Time. Last movie I watched was Iron Man. The last website I visted was Youtube.

How can people keep up with you these days?
Instagram for sure!
