It’s been a little while since we have hit up Trent McDaniel to see what was new with him. We caught wind the other day that he was just about to build up a fresh new bike thanks to Hoffman Bikes and Division Brand, so we figured that there was no better time than now to check in with him! Let’s take a closer look at this dialed bike along with a few extra questions to find out what else is new with him!

What’s the newest part on your bike?
Everything ha
What’s the oldest? Does it hold any sort of sentimental value?
Maybe my tires, and no not at all.
How often do you switch out parts? Are you the kind of guy that likes to ride something till it’s dead or swap things out before they break?
I usually ride it til it’s done. Sometimes you gotta play it safe with something like forks.
I’d imagine after all these years you have a few preferences on how you like your bike. Do you have any must have items like top tube length, bar height, bar angle, seat height, tire pressure, chain stay length or anything like that or are you pretty flexible?
I like everything pretty chill. Low seat and slammed stem. My tire pressure is usually pretty low for drops. It saves my wrists. I’ve been told it rides like a Cadillac.
What would you say your favorite part of your bike is?
Don’t really have one to be honest. It’s all gotta come together.
Does your setup change much or are you pretty consistent with the way it’s set up?
My setup really never changes. Maybe my stack height, but it’s dialed where it’s at now.
So, Trent! What’s new? It has been quite a while since we’ve caught up with you? I’d imagine you’re enjoying the nice weather in Chicago?
Yeah, Chicago has been ok. Spending more time wanting to be outside than I am. But we’ve been making due. Just spent some time in Austin not to long ago and it looks like I may be movin there for a year or more.
How are things going with Hoffman Bikes? Do you have any trips, videos, signature parts or cool projects with them you can tell us about?
Things are going awesome. Been filming a project with Andrew Brady that’s gonna drop through DIG. We still have a bit more to film, but should be out in a couple months. Really excited about that one.
How about things with Division Brand? Anything going on there you can let us in on?
Yeah, Division has been amazing to me. They sent me to Texas for 10 days to film a project filmed and edited by Jeremie Infilise. The best dude. That’s gonna be a Ride BMX edit which should be dropping in the next couple weeks. They also have hubs and a few new parts that should be available in August. Psyched.
Any other sponsor news you can tell us about?
Just the homie hook ups. Been stayin really busy with what I got.
Where have you been getting most of your sessions in these days? Any hot spots you have been psyched on? That new Grant Park plaza looks so good.
We’ve been takin short road trips to smaller towns around the area and even a few hours away searching as always. Finding the spot is sometimes just as fun as riding it.
What are your travel plans looking like this summer? Anywhere in particular you hope to get to that isn’t for sure yet?
Nothing for sure yet. Gonna stick around Chicago til July at least to finish up this Hoffman piece. Head out to Montana and kick it with my girl. Then makin that move to Austin by August.

What have you been getting into when you aren’t riding? Work? School? Any new hobbies?
I’ve been playin a lot of bball and helpin out at a bar that’s about it. Usually just always trynna pedal.
How can people keep up with you these days?
