In a sport like BMX, injuries are inevitable and sometimes they take you off your bike for longer than you want. Flat Matters hit us with a link to Tyler Gilliard‘s new video that documents his recovery from a dislocated shoulder that needed surgery to fix. This video starts out with a look at the surgery, then follows him through some of his Physical Therapy and work outs, building up a new bike and ultimately getting his old self back by going to work on his tricks. Definitely a rad video to watch since the process isn’t necessarily an easy one.
“While performing in a Christmas parade on December 8, 2014, I partially dislocated my shoulder while pulling a hop tailwhip and resulted in a need for surgical repair. This edit documents my journey from driving to the surgical center, my discharge to return to riding, and the all of the tricks I was able to capture over the past few weeks.
Special thanks go out to my family, my girlfriend Autumn Brown, all of my sponsors, Brandon Dill, Jason Hutto, Dave Abney, Chad Degroot, Gold’s Gym South Lakeland, Dennis Roche, the Florida Orthopaedic Institute, the Orthopedic Physical Therapy Associates, Bobby Carter, and Chase Sellmeyer of Kanga Marketing.” – Tyler Gilliard
