After a little hiatus thanks to the trip down to Texas, we’re back on it with the video recap. As always, we dug through the Daily Section to pull out some of the best BMX videos that dropped in the past week and piece them together for you to check out all in one place. This week we’ve got 13 videos featuring the likes of Chris Silva, Charlie Crumlish, Demarcus Paul, Tammy McCarley, Corey Foster, Jeff Klugiewicz, Rob DiQuattro, Mitch Anderson, Bas Keep, Zach Newman, Javi Castilla and many, many, many more! Let’s get into this!
Maybe it was because I was there to take it all in, but this was an easy pick for video of the week for me. The guys at DIG dropped this excellent recap of the Texas Toast Jam that has a little bit of everything awesome that happened during the weekend. If you don’t make it to next years, you are completely blowing it.
“Texas Toast 2013 was a blast! So many aspects of the contest culminated to make one incredible weekend, including a Gauntlet Of Death, awesome street course, a classic dirt setup and a ton of fun mini events. We were there catching what went down as well as asking Chester Blacksmith, Brian Foster, Steve Crandall, Simone Barraco, Trey Jones, Stevie Churchill, Sean Burns, Leland Thurman and Fids what their weirdest experience of the whole weekend was – needless to say we got some pretty different answers!

This year Dean Dickinson took over the reins of organizing Toast from Taj Mihelich, who had previously run the event but still remains a vital part of the team. He summed things up pretty well – “Have as much fun as you possibly can without getting hurt or going to jail.” Ryan Corrigan headed up the ramp building, along with Jeremy Hrabal, and the dirt taken care of by the Credence dudes, Clint Reynolds, James P. Nutter, Matty Aquizap, and Will Blount. Well done guys, you did an awesome job!” – DIG
“When Sebastian “Bas” Keep started on his Quarter Master project he had just one aim; he wanted to go bigger on dirt than he had ever been before.
Bas found the owners of the Revolution Bike Park in Wales receptive to his plan of building a huge 26ft dirt quarter pipe within their grounds. The idea to build the quarter pipe came to Bas around five years ago when he approached Red Bull with a simple sketch drawn on a piece of paper.
Fellow Brits, BMX rider Kye Forte and mountain bike legend Dan Atherton, helped turn Bas’ idea of the 26ft quarter pipe into reality. Both have considerable experience of building dirt jumps and were all too happy to help in this project.
Once the four month build was completed, Bas couldn’t wait to ride the quarter pipe and invited Ben Hennon and Ruben Alcantara to join him to ride the beast to see how big they could all go.” – Red Bull
“This promo ran before Nora Cup, but everyone was at the bar or in the bathroom, so here it is again. Filming in Progress. DVD out SPRING 2014.” – Fit Bike Co.
Chris Silva for Animal Bikes.
A few weeks back, Jeff Klugiewicz, TJ Henderson, Rob DiQuattro, Nick Wilbat, Anthony Loconte, Ryan Wayne and Timothy Burkhart loaded up for a trip that I don’t think all too many BMX trips have gone, the Upper Peninsula of Lake Michigan. They pulled out the cameras and managed to film this supppper good video from all of the parks and street spots they hit up, along with the camping and good times they had off their bikes for Defgrip. This is one video you won’t want to miss.
Charlie Crumlish for Merritt.
“Filmed between Austin, NYC and Toronto by Devon Lampman Photography, Ryan Navazio, Gutstains, Adam22, Andrew White and Scott McMenamin.”
“ZEAL put on its very first Ghetto Frontyard Jam at Upton, with some pretty crazy homemade obstacles including the infamous sky ring the jam went off.
