This past week was a busy one. With the new year kicking in we saw a ton of end of 2012, beginning of 2013 edits along with a heavy amount of sponsor changes. I dug through the past weeks posts in the Daily Section to pick out the best videos from the week for you guys to check out. This week we’ve got 15 videos featuring the likes of Miles Rogoish, Erik Elstran, Grant Germain, Phil Demattia, Jeff Kocsis, James Meliota, Steve Woodward, Ben and Levi Hucke, Alex Donnachie, Rob Ridge, Matt Closson and more for you to check out. Let’s get into this!
I think it’s pretty obvious why I gave Volume Bikes the top spot for the week. They kicked off 2013 with this bombshell of a video that is just a preview to the new DVD they are working on. Absolutely amazing.
“To kick off the new year right we decided drop some heat on ya from damn near the entire team! Back in November we loaded the van to the brim, stuffed our belongings in the U-Haul and headed North in search of some of of the best spots in California. Stops include Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, Nipomo, San Luis Obispo, Fresno, San Jose, and San Fransisco…as well as some home turf gems in the mix. With the exception of SF, you could say we weren’t exactly staying on the beatin’ path…and that’s exactly how we like it. I’m really excited about how this came together, so grab a cup of your best hangover remedy, kick that now lesser attractive girl out of your bed, and go ride your bike. Happy 2013 Everyone!
Featuring Drew Hosselton, Alex Raban, Jason Enns, Broc Raiford, Lil D, Tate Roskelley, Mike Mastroni, Mike Jonas, & Eric Bahlman.

If you aren’t familiar with Erik Elstran by now, you’re absolutely blowing it. Erik’s creativity on a BMX bike is on a whole different planet. I would like to thank Kyle Stark for finally uploading Erik’s part from the “Team Dilly Is The Man” DVD so the whole world can enjoy this.
Miles Rogoish has been fighting injuries for way too long. It’s always good when he’s healthy enough to stack some banger clips for a new edit. This one is a perfect example of what he can do when he’s feeling good.
“Miles has been a part of the Osiris family for nearly four years now and we’re stoked to kick off 2013 with this amazing video by Tony Ennis. Miles has gone through a lot of ups and downs over the past few years, but this video should make it damn clear that he’s not going to let anything hold him down. Expect A LOT more from Miles this year…” – Osiris
Mike King has been one of my personal favorite filmers and editors for some time. If this recap of all the videos he’s done over the past year doesn’t make it clear as to why, you are blind. So glad he finally made this embedable on more sites than just FFWD BMX. Thanks, Mike!
“Following another great year, Fast Forward BMX is proud to present it’s best and unseen footage over the course of 2012.
Featuring never seen before footage from the following web projects and exclusive FFWDBMX content.
Hugest thanks goes out to the brands below also, without their help this video would not have been possible, thanks for working with Mike King.
And of course, thanks to all our visitors, advertisers, fans and anyone who supports us, for yet another great year!

I’m sure a lot of you are wondering who Grant Germain is exactly… It’s understandable. He’s been flying under the radar for a while, but I think this new sponsorship with Odyssey will change that. I think this welcome edit is a real good indicator of that.
“It’s been a while since we last had an ODSY VISION but we’re coming in strong with Volume Two of our video series. To kick things off, we have Grant Germain’s Welcome to the Team edit. Hailing from Wantagh, NY on Long Island, he is one of our most recent (and youngest) additions to our team. At only 15 years old, Grant doesn’t even have his license yet and he’s already driving trucks off some big ledges.”
I am always so stoked when a new edit featuring Phil Demattia drops. I like how unpredictable and creative he is. This new edit for Cycling Sports Group is definitely one for this weeks list.
I’m going out on a limb and saying this is the feel good edit of the year and it’s only the first week of 2013. Ben Hucke is one of the luckiest guys in the world to have a kid like Levi. I’d be hyped if I ever have a kid this cool. I can only imagine how much fun Stew Johnson had filming and editing this one.
“This new edit by Stew Johnson for Dan’s Comp is a little different than the typical BMX video. It features Dan’s Comp team pro Ben Hucke, his 3-1/2 year old son Levi and a little bit of what their days together are like. Words can’t do justice to how awesome this one is. Dare you to not smile” – Dan’s Comp
Power Hour: Alex Donnachie – More BMX Videos
Alex Donnachie has been on fire lately. Here’s him keeping that flame going in a single hour of power.
“One hour at Unit 23 with one of BMX’s fastest rising stars. Credit: Chris Wilmshurst”
I’ve been real hyped on Jeff Kocsis lately. His section from the Animal “Foreign and Domestic” video is a good example of why. Shout out to Animal for uploading this one for everyone to check out.
“Jeff’s part from “Foreign And Domestic.” Available as a bonus on The QSS 4 DVD.”
Steve Woodward has been blowing minds for well over a decade. I remember him killing it way back in the day in San Diego BMX edits. This new edit for Network A is proof that he hasn’t slowed down one bit over the years. That dude isn’t scared of doing some gnarly shit pegless.
“Bmx rider Steve Woodward heads down to San Diego and rips Dennis Enarson’s backyard ramps a new one! Steve is one of the few guys still throwing down scary peg less-over-icepicks like the ones in this clip. Heavy!”
Locking brake levers might have had a short run, but there are a few riders out there I’ve seen absolutely kill it with them. Rob Ridge still runs one today and this video shows you why. So much craziness in this!
“Sketchy edit utilizing a trick weapon from the forgotton past”
Soooo hyped on these Accent Collaboration videos that James Meliota has been dropping. Him and Umi are back at it again with another split edit from opposite ends of the world. BMX is awesome like that.
“This is part two of this series featuring a mix of park oriented lines. Umi enjoys his local parks around the Tokyo area and James hits up transition from Maine and New Hampshire.
The music artist in the video is based out of Tokyo, Japan and goes by the name of “Mabanua”. Song name is “Talkin’ to You” which includes his very own vocals. His music features an array of funk/jazz hip hop and soul jams and many of his songs feature vocals from various international artist. He is also part of Ovall (mainly), Laidbook and Green Butter. His music really opens up the doors and sets a standard for being self produced. What also sets him apart is that he has a strong usage of live funk oriented instrumentation including live drums, bass, keyboard and vocals.
James Meliota: Portland, Maine, USA
Umi Asano: Tokyo, Japan
Filming contributions:
Umi: Souta, Massan, Yashi, Marco, Atshushi
James Meliota: Punlieu Tang, Illes Estes, Josiah Webber, Jordan Murphy, Wilson Cramp, Mike Masic, Justin Dickinson, Kyle Connolly, Timothy Packard, Michael Bonney, Patrick Daigle, Josh Mccrillis, Rocco DiDonato,”
This edit had to make the list for the simple fact that it is what BMX is all about. Loading up to spend a week on the road riding spots with your friends along with getting as loose as possible the rest of the time. I need a trip like this in my life soon.
“6 days on the road, 17 WAnchors, 2400km trying to session as many bowls within Victoria as possible.

I’m really stoked on this new Shane Conlon edit for Demolition for 2 reasons. One is that he can kill it on anything you put in front of him. Two is that he isn’t scared to do some back railing fufanus. Hell yeah!
“Shane comes through with the goods from a number of parks and spots around Qld & Nsw.

Let’s wrap this up with Matt Closson’s new edit for Diamondback. Matt is a hell of a real good rider and there are so many good spots in this. Looking forward to seeing what he brings for 2013.
