It’s kind of crazy to think Vince is definitely one of the first few people I had the chance to meet and interview when this site started over 6 years ago. Over the years we have crossed paths a few times and it’s always a good time when that happens. It had been a little while since we had caught up, and thanks to Matt Coplon, I had a few fresh photos of him giving me more than enough of an excuse to get ahold of Vince to find out what’s new with him. We decided it would be a good idea to take a closer look at his super clean Solid setup, so check out a fresh bike check along with a bunch of bonus questions to find out what’s new with him! Let’s do this!

What’s the newest part on your bike?
Profile’s 22mm Column cranks, these cranks are so rad!
What’s the oldest part on your bike?
My chain, it’s a year and a half in and still hasn’t snapped! Its getting a like creaky/rusty, time for an update!
What do you usually go through the most?
Pedals, I like plastics and don’t run pegs so a lot of grinding I do is with them.
If you had to pick a favorite part off the whole bike, what would you pick and why?
I love my entire setup but the its def got to be the Frame or cranks. The flat black Profile Push stem really ties the whole thing together though.
Does your setup change much or are you pretty consistent with how you have things running?
NO, my setup has been the same since I was 15, I don’t jump on band wagons so it’s probably never going to change.
Alright, so how are things going with Solid these days? Do you have anything cooking with those guys as far as trips or anything goes?
Solid is the REALEST bike company in the game. I love everyone there. I’ve supported them since before I rode for them and will long after. Probably do a trip or two with those boys in 2014.
What’s new with Profile Racing? I know the crew was just out your way recently. Does this mean we’ll be seeing some fresh footage of you popping up in a video?
Aaron Nardi was with us the whole time filming, I had a bum shoulder the whole trip be we got some pretty cool clips for the edit. Going to drop a Goods edit in the near future too.
Do you have any more trips or things you’re getting excited for with them coming up soon?
Going to go out to FL soon, meet everyone at Profile and see how things work, possibly jump on a forklift and help with an honest days work over there.
Any other sponsor news you can tell us about?
I got a couple things in the works, nothing BMX related.
So anyone that follows you on Instagram knows you have been really into MMA for a while now. How’s that all going for you? Any big tournaments you’re working towards?
I’m into the combat sports. I compete in Jiu-Jitsu almost every other weekend. Getting ready for a submission only tourney this Saturday in LA and then NoGi World Championships in November. I got lots of short term/long term goals with my grappling, Jiu-Jitsu is def my passion next to BMX.
How does MMA effect your riding? Do you feel like it has helped your riding or does it usually make it a little tough after getting pretty beat up?
Training helps with BMX, when I didn’t train all I did was drink booze and eat shitty food. Now I’m flexible, weigh 140/145lbs and eat supper clean. When I get on my bike I am super motivated and confident. Jiu-Jitsu saved my life.
How many fights have you done so far? Is this something you’re trying to take professionally or is it just something you really like to do? No pro MMA fights yet, I’ll be looking to make my MMA debut once I accomplish some of my grappling goals. I feel a world championship is within my grasp and I’m working hard towards that goal, once its accomplished I’ll focus full time on MMA.
Where have you been getting most of your riding time in these days? Any hot spots you have been psyched on?
Just lots of skateparks and parking lots honestly. I ride some dope pools from time to time. Miss riding Burnside back home in Portland.
Do you have any trips coming up that you’re getting stoked for?
The hour and a half trip to Long Beach in November for NoGi Worlds!
Outside of riding and the MMA stuff, what have you been getting into? Any other hobbies or jobs filling your time?
Between training full time, riding part time, I also maintain a job at Ikea working in logistics. Got great benefits and an awesome team. Working a “real” job is important, BMX doesn’t offer 401K
What’s the last song you heard, movie you watched and website you visited?
Pantera, Walk. No time for TV. Bloodyelbow.com
How can people keep up with you these days?
@vincekroff on Twitter
@vincekroof on Instagram. Im always posting cool shit on there!
Do you have any shout outs or thanks?
Thanks Kurt for the bike check, Matt Coplon at Profile, Aaron Huff at Solid Bikes, Shad at Goods, Bruce Crisman and my Coach Dustin Thornton!
