June 23, 2025

Check out all the action from the BMX Flatland contest at X Games Osaka 2025!

This past weekend the X Games stop in Osaka, Japan went down. As expected, the flatland contest got real wild with so many crazy combos going down. Above is the full live replay for you to check out every single thing that went down during the contest. If you don’t have an hour to work with, the top 3 podium runs can be found below!

“How medal event is judged:
1st Battle: 3 groups of 3 athletes in a 7 minute session with 1 run each (0:40 seconds maximum). Once an athlete touches the ground with their foot or the 0:40 second timer is up, athletes must switch. Judges will rank competitors throughout the competition to determine full leaderboard. Top 2 athletes from each group will advance to the semi finals.
Semi Final: 2 groups of 3 athletes in a 7 minute session with 1 run each (0:40 seconds maximum). Competition flow follows the same structure as 1st battle. The top athlete from each group will advance to the final. Judges will rank the 4 eliminated athletes, the athlete ranked as 3rd will advance to the final as a wildcard.
Final: 1 group of 3 athletes in a 7 minute session with 1 run each (0:40 seconds maximum). Competition flow follows the same structure as the semi final. At the end of the jam, judges will rank athletes 1-3.

This style of riding requires a high level of skill, creativity and precision, as riders must execute their tricks flawlessly while maintaining a continuous flow of movement – touching feet to ground results in points deductions. BMX flatland competitions typically involve riders performing complex routines that are judged based on their level of difficulty, execution, flow, style and overall creativity.” – X Games
