Zack Gerber Bike Check

Video by Brett Rohlfing
Song: Heavy Metal Mania – Holocaust

Zack Gerber has been on the hustle lately with edits popping out almost every week that are just stacked with wildness. Brett Rohlfing hit me up recently saying he had a bike check with Zack and was wondering if I would be into using it on the site. I decided to shoot Zack a few quick questions to go with the edit to find out what else he has been up to. Check out Zack’s bike, some wild riding and then find out what else he has been up to lately!

Name: Zack Gerber

Location: Ridgway, Pennsylvania

Sponsors: Albe’s, Alienation, and Misled

Years riding: 12 years

How are things going these days on the sponsor end? I feel like it’s been a while since you were riding for a frame sponsor?
I’m fortunate enough that Albe’s helps me out a lot on that end. They always hook it up.

Does Alienation have anything in the works with you these days? Any trips or things like that at all?
Currently, as far as I know, not at this moment.

What about Albe’s? Anything there?
I recently was offered an opportunity to go to Cali, but had to turn it down because of school and Megatour. I’m sure other stuff is in the works.

Care to give us a little info on Misled clothing? How did you get hooked up with those guys and do you guys have any plans for the year?
Misled is a clothing company that’s rider owned and operated by my friend Garey Faulkner. I’ve known Garey since ’06 Dirty East contest. He recently asked me if I’d be down to be a part of the team and I was like heck yeah. Garey is a really nice and awesome guy. Currently, we have a trip planned to go out to Oregon to do some bicycle riding and filming. Should be a lot of fun.

It seems like you have been pumping an edit or so out a week lately. What has kept you so motivated to film? Do you have any video parts or anything like that, that you might be saving clips up for?
My edits are just my daily riding. I’ve never tried or spent time on any of my recent edits. That’s just my usual riding. Plus, I’ve been locked inside indoor parks all winter, so I haven’t got any clips saved. My motivation comes from just my love for BMX. Plus, I don’t know how to stop riding or slow down. I think Brett Rohlfing and myself may be doing something this summer. That’s when I’ll start saving clips.

You have been traveling a fair amount this past year. Where all have you been lately? Anywhere you plan on getting to this summer?
With Megatour just coming to an end, Texas has been my most recent stop. Texas and Oklahoma were awesome. This summer I’ll probably end up in Florida to film with Brett.

How was Megatour 10 for you? I heard you stacked some serious clips in the process.
Megatour 10 was crazy! I never thought I’d have the opportunity to go on something I grew up watching. I still have Megatour 1 on VHS at my house. I did put in some work for Megatour 10. I’m really excited to see how it comes out.

What else is new with you these days? Working at all?
Currently, I just ride as much as possible, spend time with my girlfriend, I film with friends and shoot photos, and work on my website. Oh, and I’m a janitor at my old high school if you mean real work.

What’s the last song you heard, movie you watched and website you visited?
Clutch, Texan book of the dead, Fubar 2, and realistically facebook.

Anything else you want to say?
I just want to thank everyone who has given me these opportunities, and everyone that I’ve been able to meet and ride with over the years. Thanks to my parents, especially for helping go on trips when I didn’t have the money. Thanks to all my sponsors for keeping a ridable bicycle between my legs and keeping it real. Thanks Beff and all of my close friends I ride with everyday for all the fun times. Thank you Brett for filming this for me, and thank you Kurt for this interview. I appreciate everything that everyone has done for me. I’m extremely grateful to all of you.
