There’s been a handful of event videos start to surface online now that some countries are opening things back up. Here’s one from a trails jam at the M-Trails over in Magdeburg, Germany. We don’t know much about the trails or why they called this Lame 2020, but this year has been pretty lame. Either way, this event looks like it was a ton of fun with some perfect weather. Also this year there is a state championship in Saxony-Anhalt, even Corona cannot change that. The first run at LAME 2020 took place on the M-Trails in Magdeburg and was a tailor-made debut.
Marcus Wallborn and his helpers had prepared their local spots perfectly and the sun was laughing from the sky, so that you could let off steam all day long on lines for every level of driving. What about 70 drivers from all over Germany did after thorough hand disinfection, including such illustrious names as Paul Thölen and Simon Moratz.
Between trains until you drop, delicious food from the grill and cool drinks, one or the other contest took place during the day – after all, you were at a national championship. The sporty part was approached in a relaxed manner. So you just cut a couple of hours together and in the end the participants decided for themselves which of them should be on the podium.
In the case of the men, in the opinion of the majority of the local Sebastian “Harald” Herbst, who left the rest of the gang behind in terms of height, style and excess energy, while Teresa Grauten showed that it is not reserved for the gentlemen of creation alone Trails cut a fine figure. With the rookies, however, Liu Guderjahn had the nose in front, who jumped confidently through the new tableline of the M-Trails with his 16-inch machine and showed one-handers on both sides.
You can find these and other highlights in the video above. Many thanks to the organization team for a wonderful day, which those present will surely remember fondly for a long time to come. And who knows, maybe there will be something else going on in the direction of LAME this year …
At www.bmx-meisterschaft.de you can at least read that there will be an indoor challenge, a park and a street contest in Saxony-Anhalt in 2020. Let’s knock on wood. Because if these events are only half as good as Magdeburg, then we will definitely not miss them!
