Jannik Schmid – Sun’s Out

Any sign of spring has been a good sign with how cold it’s been lately for those of us up in the northern hemisphere. Freedom BMX dropped this new one featuring Jannik Schmid soaking up the sun and cruising spots over in Germany. Jannik brings a jibby style with grinds, crankflips and much, much more. Hit play and take a look! Hopefully more of us can get in on these sunny sessions like Jannik soon!

“Spring vibez from the streets of Ulm (Germany), courtesy of Jannik Schmid.

Because the weather was so incredibly beautiful last weekend, Christian Gattinger simply chugged off to Ulm to see his homie Jannik Schmid. The two actually wanted to roll together in the skate park all day, but somehow the idea came up to leave the (probably already overcrowded) skate park and instead film a street video with Jannik in the lead role. After all, Christian’s knee still felt like mud even after two Ibos – and Jannik’s last edit is now a bit behind.

The result is SUN’S OUT, which sums up a damn good and productive day on the streets of Ulm in four and a half minutes. Christian says about his latest VX project: “I just wanted to make a nice, relaxed video that brings across the spring vibe.” Clear case of mission accomplished!

Tim Guntner – Rock With Me

Check out this fresh one from Volume and Odyssey‘s German connect Tim Guntner who went to work putting his pegs to heavy use on spots around Germany and Barcelona! No shortage of solid clips in this, so get on that play button and check it out!

“YEWW! German Volume Bikes and Odyssey rider Tim Güntner getting his tech on in the streets of Hamburg (Germany) and Barcelona (Spain).

A noble technician in the wild: Tim Güntner has teamed up with the filmmaker Anton Arens and the result is just under four minutes of straight fire with extra sauce from Hamburg and Barcelona. After all, Tim is on the road through @SIBMX for @Volume Bikes and @Odyssey BMX via @SIBMX – and the fact that Anton makes great videos should not have been general knowledge since the Bangers Freestyle Film Festival 2020.

The only downer: Unfortunately, this will probably be the last cooperation between Tim and Anton for the time being, because the man behind the camera recently moved to Cologne. Here are a few lines he passed on to us about his latest work:

“I can no longer say when exactly we started filming. On the one hand, because it has to be at least 3 years. On the other hand, we never really filmed intentionally, but simply kept on it with my VX when it worked In addition to the clips from Hamburg, there was also a trip to Barcelona in 2019. After I broke each of the three VX models and destroyed 2 tapes, I switched to HD and thus more reliability. old “clips are in no way inferior to the new ones and consequently this video is a mix of 4: 3 and 16: 9. It is also a kind of end to my time in Hamburg. Enjoy!”

Kevin Nikulski – Timeless

You can always count on Kevin Nikulski to deliver with a dialed flatland video! Here’s a fresh one Freedom BMX just dropped packed with wild combos that will leave you dizzy and scrolling back to try and process everything! Take a look!

“Check out Kevin Nikulski throw down some timeless Flatland moves in Berlin, Germany. Add Raph Jeroma-Williams and his trusty VX1000 to the mix and you got yourself an instant classic. Well done guys!

Before Kevin Nikulski recently emigrated to Portugal *, he quickly filmed a video on the streets and basketball courts of Berlin with the VX wizard Raph Jeroma-Williams. And in the end so at the last minute that the last clip for Timeless was literally only in the can when the engine of the moving van was already warming up.

Incidentally, the title fits like a fist. After all, the flowing style of the kunstform team driver can justifiably be described as timeless. And good VX1000 footage is beyond any doubt anyway. Clean work, men!

Primo – Johannes Winkelmann “Steel Wrists”

Johannes Winkelmann is healing up from some wrist surgery where he got some new metal hardware, but he managed to bang this fresh video out for Primo before that. Hit play to check out just under 5 minutes of great riding from the streets of Germany. This has a real good mix of tricks and spots, making for a real solid watch. If you’re looking for grinds, Johannes delivers!

“Before undergoing a wrist surgery Johannes Winkelmann made sure to leave no loose ends on the streets of Nuremburg!

When Johannes Winkelmann is not teaching new tricks to CT Freestyle BMX beginners, he likes to throw himself down one or the other terrifying rail or gap. And not infrequently also backwards, which, as is well known, makes the matter a whole lot hairier than it already is.

Such daring, of course, comes at a price. And that’s why Jo had to undergo wrist surgery today, which luckily went well. We wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to hopefully back in the saddle soon.

To look forward to, we have his new video for AllRide BMX Distribution and Primo, which the Angleman has been working hard on over the past year and a half. In the week right before his operation, a couple of really big things were quickly bagged for which you literally need steel wrists. But of course the technical side of the main actor is not neglected either, so that in the end a really fiery video came out. But we are not used to that any different from Johannes. Check it!

Kilian Roth & Alex Kennedy at House of Vans

You can always count on Kilian Roth and Alex Kennedy to produce! Here’s a video from some riding time these two got in at the House of Vans park in London! Hit play to check out a bunch of lines and combos these guys cooked up during their time cruising.

“Pre-lockdown session with Kilian Roth and Alex Kennedy at the House of VANS in London.

When Kilian Roth was in London last autumn to work on his interview for Endless Magazine (more on this shortly), he of course stopped by for an evening at the House of VANS.

As is well known, there is a small but fine skate park in its vault – and one of the many advantages of being a VANS team driver is that you can even go there for a private session. And that’s exactly what Kilian did, but of course not completely alone, that would be boring, but together with Alex Kennedy. Here is your clip haul!

Comeback Kid – Leon Hoppe

It has been a little while since we’ve seen Leon Hoppe throwing down on his bike. It turns out he took some time off, but he’s back on it. Hit play for a fresh batch of clips filmed over the past year or so from street sessions. As always, Leon is a beast and throws down some technical lines filled with grinds, balance and bike control. We imagine we’ll be seeing plenty more from Leon in 2021 now that he’s fired back up.

“Don’t call it a comeback! After disappearing from the German scene for a minute, Radio Bikes rider Leon Hoppe is back with a new video that proves he’s still capable of throwing down hammers. Check it!

Leon Hoppe had become a little quieter in the past two years. It was rumored that the radio bike rider was now more interested in standing in the fan section of his favorite football club than on the bike.

Not least because this is currently not possible for known reasons, Leon has been spotted more and more at 20 inches in recent months. Old love just doesn’t rust. Now there is even a new video from him – and lo and behold: Leon has not forgotten anything. Rather, he throws wild double bars around him as always and the head-over-roll still sits like a one. 47 represent and welcome back, bears!

Paul Thölen – Winter Warehouse BMX Sessions

Whenever we see Paul Tholen‘s name pop up, we know we’re going to see something awesome. Here’s a new one from some riding time he got in at a new warehouse spot over in Germany where he absolutely BLASTS. Hit play to watch Paul get close to the ceiling, as well as bringing a TON of style to the table. This is a super good watch, so hit play and enjoy!

“Paul Thölen tearing the private Sportpiraten Warehouse in Flensburg (Germany) a new one.

Buckle up everyone, now it’s going to be fast! For his new edit, Paul Thölen pre-buttoned the ramp course in the warehouse of the Flensburg Sports Pirates – and ticked off one or the other hair-raising mission.

It goes without saying that he did this with a lot of style. And of course, the freedombmx park driver of the year 2020 still knows where the boost button is in his North German adopted home. It is more surprising that Paul went on a short excursion into the world of grind sport while filming. In short: don’t miss it!

PS: Before you all set off to Flensburg to visit the hall, here is an important note: The park is not open to the public!” – Freedom BMX

BMX Fails 2020

Crashing on a BMX bike sucks, but it happens! Freedom BMX dug through their footage from 2020 (and 2019) and dug out a bunch of BMX fails for you to hit play on. There’s some real brutal ones and some pretty funny ones. Hit play and feel the pain!

“Maximum reach with minimal effort – let’s see whether voyeurism is also the trump card in 2021. Here are the best fails and falls from (almost) all freedombmx videos of 2020. Our hardest plugged in for our cameras are definitely Dean Florian, Alex Stinshoff and Marius Dietsche, who have been extremely tough over the past 12 months . YEWW!
