Insight: Colony X Vans Shoes

February 25, 2012

A few months back, there was some talk of a collaboration shoe that Colony was doing with Vans. I mean, the whole thing made sense, but I didn’t know for sure and didn’t really dig too deep into it. Then one day an unexpected box showed up and as soon as I saw that it was from Vans, I knew was going to be in for a treat. Sure enough, I open the box and there’s not one, but two different Colony X Vans shoes inside. I was really stoked on how the shoes turned out and then found out I was to keep things hush hush until closer to the release… over a month away.
After I have been staring and wearing these shoes for a few weeks now, I finally got the okay to let you guys get a closer look at the shoes since both will be available next Thursday (March 1st). I’ve put together a PHOTOGALLERY together with a bunch of photos for you to check out. But before you do that, keep reading to get all the info!

The Colony X Vans collaboration shoes are available in two models with the black and yellow colorway. The first is the Wylie. This new model has that classic style to it with Vans’ signature wave along the side. The Wylie features a cupsole design with the waffle pattern everyone knows and loves. You can also find a molded heel clip for added stability, a dual layered patch and toe cap to increase the life of the shoes from wear and tear, the Colony shield logo on the tongue, bed cushion and heel and round black and yellow laces. The shoes also come with all black laces.

You can pick the Wylie up for $70.00 on the Vans Store with sizes 6.5 through 13 available.

The second shoe in the collaboration is the Milo. The Milo is simple low style shoe that is made from canvas with plenty of flexibility. The shoe features the classic waffle sole and a dual layered patch and toe cap overlay for extra strength where the shoes take more wear and the black and yellow round laces. You can find Colony logos on the tongue and footbed, with the Vans logo on the heel and on the side tag.

You can pick the Milo up for $55.00 on the Vans store in sizes 6.5 through size 16 (woah).

Overall, I really like the shoes. Colony, Vans and Ryan Guettler kept it pretty simple with two clean looking shoes that offer plenty of grip on the pedals and plenty comfort. You won’t be disappointed with these.

Now! Take a closer look at the shoes in this PHOTOGALLERY!
