Today, Subrosa Brand introduced Lahsaan Kobza‘s new Black Paisley colorway that is featured on their Thunderbeast BMX frame, Code bars and Battle Fork II. To go along with the news, they released a banger of a PROMO VIDEO to bring the news. We were stoked on the look at this special colorway, so we decided to take a closer look! Subrosa Thunderbeast Frame – Lahsaan Kobza Signature Black Paisley Colorway
The Thunderbeast frame is made from 4130 chromoly with a 75-degree head tube angle, 69-degree seat tube angle, 11.6″ bottom bracket height, 9″ stand over height and 13.5″ (slammed) chain stay length. The frame features a heat-treated head tube and bottom bracket, gussets on the top and down tubes with the Subrosa shield logo, double butted top and down tubes, an ovalized down tube and thicker ovalized chain stays to help resist denting, an investment cast wisbone on the chain stay and an investment cast seat stay bridge, flattened chain and seat stays at the drop outs to give clearance for hub guards, heat-treated and laser cut 6mm thick drop outs to fit 34mm diameter pegs flush, an integrated seat post clamp and low profile removable brake mounts.
The Thunderbeast frame in Lahsaan Kobza’s signature black Paisley colorway is available in 20.5″, 20.75″, 21″ and 21.5″ top tube lengths with a weight of 5.1 lbs. (21″)

“Lahsaan wanted something to stand out, but not be so bright, that you get sick of riding, so we went with a black base, and put all the color in the decals. The bright decals are a special water transfer style to create a smooth seamless look to make the graphics appear to be painted on. No visible sticker lines at all!”

Subrosa Brand Code Bars – Lahsaan Kobza Signature Black Paisley Colorway
The Code bars are made from 100% post-weld Deathproof heat-treated 13-butted 4130 chromoly tubing. These bars have a 8.75″ rise, 29″ width, 10-degrees of backsweep and 3-degrees of upsweep. The crossbar is ovalized for a unique look and the butting helps to give more strength in high stress points on the bars like bends. These bars also have an anti-rust ED coating to help keep the bars looking good for a long time.
The Code bars in Lahsaan Kobza’s signature black Paisley color weigh in at 28.2 oz.
Subrosa Brand Battle Fork II – Lahsaan Kobza Signature Black Paisley Colorway
The 2nd version of the Battle Fork from Subrosa Brand is made from 100% post-weld Deathproof heat-treated 4130 chromoly. It starts out with a one-piece CNC machined steerer tube with a 5mm cut line, integrated race, shortened recessed threads that do not thread below the stem clamping area for a more structurally sound steer tube and a shortened 6061 alloy hard anodized top cap (24×1.5mm). The legs are fluted, butted, oversized and tapered to increase the strength and 6mm thick investment cast 3/8″ drop outs. You can find an anti-rust ED coating on the fork like the Code bars.
The Battle II fork in the Black Paisley colorway weighs in at 36.1 oz.
