Every month for the past almost two years Brian Tunney has delivered a new video giving us a look at what he’s been getting into during his flatland sessions over the course of a month. These videos are always worth a look from the riding to the music selection, so we always get stoked for it. One trick in particular has made an appearance in at some point in pretty much every video, the Undertaker, despite Brian’s apparent love / hate relationship with it. Over the past year he has done quite a few combos involving this trick, so he decided to put together a video looking back at all of them, ending up with a 9 minute video! If you’re a fan of flatland or just want to see how it’s done, this is worth a peek! Check it!

On Oct. 30, 2019, I did an undertaker at my old riding spot in Redondo Beach, overlooking the International Pier. I was attempting to re-create the Bruce King undertaker sequence that ran in Freestylin’ Magazine (July 1987) many years ago, but I’m kind of lazy and my style of doing undertakers didn’t really mesh with the way I thought they were supposed to be done. So, the sequence re-creation went out the window and I spent a lot of time thinking about the trick over the next few months. I also spent a lot of time doing my own version of the undertaker, so much so that I accrued nine minutes of footage that is solely devoted to a trick invented in the late 1980s. This is every undertaker I did between Oct. 2019 and Oct. 2020. It’s also maniacal to compile these for a nine-minute flatland video and I realize that, but oh well.” – Brian Tunney
