Shawn McIntosh On Stranger BMX

Man, what is going on over at Stranger these days? They’ve been busy stacking the team with a bunch of heavy names, and it looks like they have added… Or should we say re-added another one! Shawn McIntosh has parted ways with Fit Bike Co. and joined the Stranger team! As some of you might recall, Shawn was one of the original team riders for Stranger when it launched back around 2010 before heading to Fit, but it looks like he decided to make his way back. Below is the instagram post he dropped to announce the news. The clip is from way back when he originally rode for Stranger the first time.

Sneak Peek: Vans – Limited Edition Swampfest Slip-Ons

March 23, 2019

Are you heading down to Florida next weekend for the FloriDeah Swampfest? Make sure you get there early on the 30th because there are 100 pairs of the VERY limited edition Vans Slip-On’s that will be for sale. Since there are only 100 pairs that will be available, we would imagine sizes are going to be limited so these will probably go real fast. No word on price, either, but we would assume whatever they are being sold for will be worth it. These things look so badass. Check out more photos below!

How sick are those graphics?

Unclicked Podcast – Dan Lacey

March 23, 2019

Unclicked Podcast Dan Lacey BMX

The latest round of Dennis Enarson‘s Unclicked Podcast has arrived, and this time around he sat down with Dan Lacey! As many of you know by now, Dan isn’t one to hold back and he is always going to tell it like it is. This lead to two hours of great conversations, stories and more. Dan has been crushing it for years, and you better believe this is a super good listen. You can check it out over on the UNCLICKED BUZZSPROUT PAGE since we can’t embedd it.

“This week pro bmx rider Dan Lacey is on the podcast. Lacey is known for sending it and is one of my favorite riders to watch. We’ve been friends for a while but leading up to this podcast he stayed with me for two weeks so I really got to know him and hear a bunch of his stories and opinions. He is unfiltered and not afraid to speak his mind, that is one of the reasons this podcast was so good.” – Dennis Enarson

Steve Kolb – “What I Have Become” 2019 Video

March 23, 2019

We’re always stoked to see what Steve Kolb is getting into. As of lately, he’s been putting in a lot of work to get his flatland riding dialed in and it is definitely showing. This video was made as a tribute to Chicago legend Hiro Tsuchida who passed away a few weeks back. Steve has always had a little more of an untraditional approach to BMX and it is what makes his riding so good. Hit play and take all of this in. You won’t be disappointed.

“Chicagoland Bmx rider Steve Kolb (@krazy_kolb) films his first flatland edit at Flatknox43 in tribute to his friend that passed away, pro bmx flatlander Hiro Tsuchida. Coming from a park and street background, Steve unleashes an immense amount of difficult flatland combos after only riding flatland for 9 months. The edit is packed with a variety of decade combos, spins, and old school moves such the undertaker and the Miami Wedge as displayed in the thumbnail. After being inspired and trained by Hiro, Steve continues his passion to motivate others and to keep flatland bmx alive.
Thanks to the sponsors @nowearbmx, @mudslingersbikeshop, @flat43bmx, @chicagoactionsports, and @oldfatguybmx

This edit was filmed by the IPod 5 using IMovie software.

Imprimatur Podcast – Why Street Riding Became Such a Dominant Force in BMX Culture

March 23, 2019

The latest Imprimatur BMX Podcast has arrived, and this time around Mike Hinkens went back to an article he wrote for the Imprimatur website about why street riding became such a dominant force in BMX culture. Mike essentially reads the article, but adds in some extra commentary to go a little more in depth on certain topics in the article. If you’re looking for an interesting podcast to listen to, this might just do the trick for you.

“In this episode of the ImprimaturBMX podcast, Mike Hinkens reads through the article “Why Street Riding Became Such a Dominant Force in BMX Culture” originally published as a written essay on the ImprimaturBMX website. The “street riding” focused nature of today’s BMX culture is quite obvious in many aspects, but also quite bemoaned by some riders. This piece explains why that has come to be as well as how “street” may no longer be as dominant as it appears.” – Imprimatur BMX

DRB Bikes – Eduardo Cansado Video

March 22, 2019

It’s always rad checking out a video from a rider we aren’t too familiar with. Here is a look at Eduardo Cansado shredding his local park for DRB Bikes. Eduardo brings a good mix of tricks, speed and style to the table making for a real solid edit. Maybe it was just us, but we got a Gary Young / Sergio Layos vibe from his riding. Take a peek and see what he threw down!

“We are proud to present rider Eduardo “Cansado”, the result of the project to build a track in the middle of a park in the center of São Paulo, the Mooca rink.

Idealized, designed and conquered by us from Dream BMX, we had the basic objective of attracting new adepts to the sport so that at least they had fun riding a good track just like we like to live the BMX.

The maximum of these yearnings are realized when we notice that a resident boy of the neighborhood, is walking, coexisting and absorbing everything that that environment can bring of good for a rider.

Eduardo Cansado, only 16, stands out for his combination of speed, height and fluidity acquired by a few. He is very eager to evolve and absorbs very well good advice invested by his friends.
We had no doubts in supporting it along the DRB Bikes brand and we believe in its potential.

Now have a good rider session in the bowl of Mooca, your local track.
