2017 Moomba BMX Contest Highlights

Check out this highlight reel from the 2017 Moomba BMX Contest that went down at the Riverslide Skatepark down in Melbourne. It looks like this contest goes down as part of a bigger carnival event with rides and a ton of other stuff going on. This video gives us a look at what went down during the BMX contest and some of the smaller jams they threw like the highest bunnyhop. It looks like there was a ton of great riding to take in from the young guns to the pros and the big crowds were stoked on it. Take a look!

“The 2017 Moomba BMX was a show stopper, with riders coming from all over Australia to rip it up at the Riverslide Skatepark in the Alexander Gardens on Moomba Monday! What a way to finish the long weekend in Melbourne. All the riders tore it up it in the 15 and under, and the Open division held some absolutely jaw dropping tricks, with some never before seen stunts at the park.
What a day!

FloriDeah Swampfest Course Preview with Trey Jones

The FloriDeah Swampfest Jam is going down this weekend and it’s bound to be nuts. Here’s a video where Trey Jones takes us for a tour of the place giving us a look at the dirt jumps, all the crazy ramp set ups they built, a floating Subrosa Street Rail that is 73ish feet long and more! The closest thing we can think of that’s been this crazy of a course set up are the old Bone Deth Jams years ago, and they definitely didn’t have the threat of alligator or snake attacks at theirs. This is bound to be a wild time, so hit play and take it all in!

FloriDeah – Riding An Abandoned Skatepark

Trey Jones just dropped the latest episode of FloriDeah. This one kicks off with a look at some of the t-shirts for the FloriDeah jam that’s going down this weekend getting made, then Trey, Jabe Jones and Sean Ricany spend some time cruising the old Mesh Skatepark (we’re amazed there’s still ramps from that place left!) and the Oviedo park that is in much better shape. This is a pretty laid back vibe in comparison to some of the other crazy ones, but it’s still a good watch. Take a peek!

“Started off the day by printing some new FloriDEAH shirts! Then Sean Ricany, Jabe and I went and rode an abandoned skatepark that closed down about 7 years ago. The skatepark used to be called Mesh. Later on in the day, we rode Oviedo skatepark.”

Odyssey BMX – Broc Raiford Passageways Video

The other day Odyssey dropped a teaser video for Broc Raiford‘s new Passageways video that he has been working with Mike Mastroni on. Since that dropped, we have been anticipating the heat this one was going to bring. The BMX video just dropped and sure enough, Broc has come through with some heavy hammers from the streets of Long Beach that will get you stoked and get your weekend started off right! Get on that play button because this is a Must See video! Amazing riding, great spots and some dialed film work.

“Earlier this year I brainstormed with the guys over at Odyssey about video project ideas for 2017. We agreed on doing a concept-based video to switch things up from the traditional web edit style. Mike Mastroni was brought into the picture as our filmer and to help us make a decision on what the most interesting concept would be. Ultimately, we chose to do a video composed entirely of riding spots we could find in Long Beach alleyways. Mastroni and I live smack dab in the middle of a plethora of alley spots, so we got to work quick and filmed for about 2 weeks.

Dave Mirra’s 24 Karat Gold Plated Bike On eBay for $50,000?

What if we told you that you could own one of BMX’s most iconic bikes for a cool $50,000 cash? Here’s a little something we spotted over on Ride BMX that caught our attention! It looks like Dave Mirra‘s 24 Karat Gold Plated bike he rode in the X Games had been put up for sale on eBay for $50,000. The auction is over now, so we’re not 100% sure if it was sold or if the seller decided to go a different route, but it’s still kind of a crazy find. The listing is still live, but closed for bids, for the time being. Check out more photos and details right here.

With the price of gold and it clearly being Dave’s bike that he rode (photos / story seems to match up), it isn’t a completely crazy ask for the price. What do you think? Would you buy it if you had that cash on hand?

Just incase it comes down, here’s the text that was on the eBay listing…

“This is a bike that I bought directly from Dave Mirra after doing a polishing restoration article on it in BMX Plus Magazine years ago..I have owned this bike for years. The bike is real 24 carat gold plated for him by Haro for the X Gamrs.After almost a year went by as I was restoring his Dyno Slammer . I asked him why he never wanted the bike back he said he would pick it up in a few months and it wasn’t really one of his favorites since he crashed on it in his first run in X Games at Staples Center in Los Angeles where he couldn’t even make his second run. On that note I asked if he would ever consider and selling it and he said of course I would sell it to nobody but you Mark and we made a deal and that’s how it went down that I made payments over several months to him. It made him happy to see me bring it all over to shows and have everybody ride it and send Dave the fun pictures and that’s what really made him happy seeing his friends and fans on it. This bought to the continuation of this bike touring with me and his life for him through what I did with it… Now I can no longer do that with him gone. It’s a sad thing to look at on a daily basis chained with a 20 ton chain. It’s time for me to let this prize of a bike or Holy Grail go to a good home, collector or a museum of some sort for the world to display. It is unaltered exactly the way he had it including the black electrical tape holding the brake cable to the handlebars. When I originally got this from him it did have pitted surface rust on the bottom and the rear hoop wheel which was change sometime in the X Games contest and the tear in the seat was also there no it has damaged change this bike in any manner shape or form besides what are your sins gold-plated Hutch trickstar this is the Holy Grail and truly missed.. I am doing the right thing I don’t need any negative publicity or feedback this is my property and I’ll do as I please with it if it brings over x amount of dollars I would like to select a possible place to leave some funds that will help. I have been offered more than this asking price by multiple people. The bike rides grest. I just took it on the boardwalk and as usual people know the bike and freak out needing pictures etc. Ivery iclued a phot of the day I paid DAve off for the bIke ill never for get driving my 86 year old dad from Alb any to Syracuse in a snow storm to pick up the bIke .. please follow my instructions about no PayPal and if someone decides to do it they will pay all of the fees and nothing will be handed over until those fees run through the bank and cash into my hand and that is that so I suggest using my phone and speaking with me about this thank you so much good luck and I can only pray it goes to the right place and Dave is watching with a smile R.I.P.”

Connetication – Javaun Crane-Bonnell

Woodward VIP – Zach Szymaniak

Woodward East have dropped their latest VIP video. This time around we get a look at bunch of clips from Zach Szymaniak. It looks like Zach takes a page out of Erik Elstran‘s dress code and style of riding, with the love for the floral button ups and tie dye, and he has a unique and diverse bag of tricks that will keep you guessing from start to finish as well. This is a real solid watch from start to finish!
